Week 2

I. Objectives:

A. Content Standard
The learners understand the documentaries are a type of storytelling that explores factual stories.

B. Performance Standards
Learners perform the difference between fact, fiction, and opinion and prepared to watch
documentaries in class.
C. MELCs
Identify the genre, purpose, intended audience and features of various viewed texts such as movie
clip, trailer, newsflash, internet-based program, documentary, videos.

II. Topic/Concept: Documentaries

III. Procedure

A. Preliminary Activities:

Modular: Ask the students what they know about documentaries.


Online: Give each student a copy of the “Introducing documentaries”
B. Motivation
The learners take on the role of being a filmmaker (the teacher will give a scenario)
C. Discussion
1. Give the meaning of documentary and film maker
2. Demonstrate a film on the documentary.
IV. Generalization
The learners will understand the difference of documentary and a film maker
The learners will appreciate the facts, fiction and opinions.
V. Evaluation
Write a documentary about yourself then film it.
