Dear Mrs. Sepulveda:

Thousands of homeless individuals freeze on the streets during the fall and winter because they
lack the proper items needed for their safety. I plan to crochet blankets for the Charlotte Family
Housing foundation and for individuals in "Tent City'' in order to provide safety and warmth for
Charlotte's homeless population. I have a strong understanding of how to crochet large blankets
and that contain warmth for the receiver.

I became interested in this topic because I have always had a love for crocheting items for other
people. I used to learn how to crochet in my primary school classrooms in a club. It was a way to
bring different people together for a common interest. Through crocheting, I’ve been able to
create beanies for kids and have given booties for family friends’ babies.

My project is designed to provide safety and comfort for part of the homeless population in
Charlotte. I plan to collect supplies, such as yarn, crochet needles, people to help with
crocheting, and bags to transport the blankets in. I hope to find volunteers to help me crochet the
blankets and to help distribute the blankets at the end of the project. The potential cost could be
between $50 and $100. This will include the yarn cost and cost of gas. The estimated time that
this will take is 3 months. This will make a large impact on the homeless community in making
sure that those individuals have at least the necessity of warmth during the winter months.

I understand the consequences of plagiarism and I pledge that I will do all my own work. I
understand that using other people’s work is extremely wrong and I pledge to not engage in any
copy and pasting or directly using other’s work.

Sincerely,
Hailey Bonczek
