TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

SECTION 1 - GENERAL CONDITIONS

1.1 This specification is intended to supplement the provisions of the general building code in
order to provide proper design and construction in case of difference between the plans and
this specifications. The specification shall govern:

SECTION II - SCOPE OF WORK

2.1 Complete construction of the structure/ building included here are site preparations and
artwork, concrete & masonry works, tinsmithry , carpentry, plumbing and electrical works.

SECTION III - WORKMANSHIP

3.1 All operations required under any and all parts of these specifications shall be undertaken
in a neat, workmanlike manner. Only skilled personnel with sufficient experience in similar
operations shall be allowed to undertake the same.

SECTION IV - PREPARATION OF SITE

4.1 Remove all earth & sub-grade materials unsuitable for the preparation of the subgrade for
the various items of the construction.

4.2 Care shall be taken to protect and maintain advancement properties, trees, materials and
such other facilities as conduits, drains, sewer pipes and other wires that bare to remain in the
property.

SECTION V- EXCAVATIONS & BACKFILL

5.1 Excavation for all foundation shall be made in accordance with the technical drawing.

SECTION VI- CONCRETE AND MASONRY WORKS

6.1 Materials
6.1.1 Cement and Aggregates shall be stored in a manner as to prevent their deterioration or
the intrusion of foreign matters. Materials of deteriorated quality shall not be used for
concrete.
6.1.2 Sand and Gravel shall be well-graded and free from any deleterious materials
6.1.3 All hollow blocks shall be approved quality, sound & free from cracks and other
imperfections.
6.1.4 Reinforcing steel bars to be used are structure grade deformed bars.
6.1.5 Forms shall conform to the shape, lines & dimensions of the members as called for on
the plans and shall be substantial and sufficient tight to prevent leakage of mortar. They shall
be properly braced or tied so as to maintain position and shape.
CONCRETE AND MASONRY WORKS

6.2.1 Before Placing reinforcement and before pouring of concrete, remove all loose rusts,
scale oil and other adhering materials which tend to reduce or destroy bond between the
concrete and reinforcement.
6.2.2 Reinforcement steel bars shall conform to ASTM designation of specified materials.
6.2.3 Concreting shall be done continuous until section is complete. When stoppage of
concrete operations occurs, construction joints shall be placed either horizontally or vertically
as indicated by the supervising engineer and provided with shear keys dowels bond.

SECTION VII- CARPENTRY

7.1 Lumber shall be well-seasoned, dry and free from large, loose and unsound knots, saps,
shakes or other imperfections that may impair its strength, durability and appearance. All
exposed wood works shall be smoothly dressed and well sand-papered.
7.2 Unless otherwise specified on drawings, the lumber to be used for trusses and purlins shall
be Malaysia Lumber.

SECTION IX - ELECTRICAL WORKS

9.1 All works herein shall be done in accordance with the latest rules and regulations of the
Philippine Electrical Code.
9.2 All materials and fixtures shall be approved type for locations purpose.
9.3 Works shall be supervised by a duly licensed Electrical Engineer or Master Electrician.
