1. General Company Description
We are adopting the fast growth of modern technology. Everything is being
done two times faster than before.  Technology makes our daily lives much easier,
especially in buying our necessities through online shopping. Just a few clicks on
your mobile phone, and your parcel is knocking on your doorstep. This proposed
mobile application, will serve a lot of people at ease. It is called Medical Online
Shop, in short MedicOlS. MedicOlS is an online shop platform, wherein you can buy
your medical needs especially medicines. The service brought on by the application
will be an in partnership with the legitimate and registered drugstores to the area.
As the business begins, its target market is the elderly and youth of Metro Manila.
In accessing the application, the customers need to create an account for validating
their identity. Once the account is created you are now set to order, it is a within the
day delivery.  For the safety of the company and the buyer, there are some
medicines that cannot be purchased without a medical prescription from
a registered Doctor. The customer just needs to capture the medical prescription,
and the application has its own feature that authenticates the prescription. If the
mobile application fails to scan the prescription, the pharmacist working in the
drugstore can validate it. MedicOlS will create its own name in the market, as being
the trusted online shop platform in buying medical necessities. Customers will grab
the application, since it has its own unique features and applies discount.

A. Name of the Service

The service application will be named as Medical Online Shop, in short
MedicOls. From the short name itself medicol, is a famous medicine name that is
used for the treatment of different types of pain like headache, migraine, toothache,
dysmenorrhea, body pain, and arthritis. Customers will easily catch the meaning of
the service.
Address of the Service
Since it is a service application it won’t have its own stand. Instead as the
business begins, it will serve the entire Metro Manila. To access the customer’s
complaints, suggestions and feedback the company operates its main office at Blk
04 Phase 20 Bldng 6 Rivas St. Manila City Metro Manila. The service will open its
branch in each city of the Metro, one at a time.
Logo

We came up to this fresh and simple logo. Based on (Why Most Medical
Logos Are Blue), very color in the rainbow inspires different feelings and
communicates different qualities to the consumer. The color blue is typically
associated with credibility, trust, knowledge, power, professionalism, cleanliness,
calm and focus. Because all of these qualities are valued in the medical community,
blue is the ideal choice for medical logos. In addition, because blue is already used
so often by healthcare providers and other related organizations, consumers
already associate it with the field of medicine. We also used the color red that
symbolizes the speed and passion. In addition to this, we used the heartbeat with a
red color to symbolize the fast service we would provide and. We added the
Caduceus – the winged staff with two twisting snakes – since it is one of the most
commonly used medical symbols, to be easily recognized by the customers. As an
online shop platform, we used the bag to symbolize it. The letter M inside the bag is
literally short for medicine. With a slogan of “your one call away meds”, simply to
serve you as fast as possible.
B. Mission
Strengthening and boosting the changes in modern technology to the
Medical Field. Using advanced applications for efficiency and effectiveness. And
deliver the goods as soon as possible, with less destruction.
Vision
Making every purchase of the customer valuable. And to be known in the
market as a great healthcare service provider throughout the area.

Market Plan
Introduction
The National Capital Region (NCR), is the great place to start your business.
It is not just because of being the capital of the country, but looking to its
geographic location. NCR is surrounded by some of the famous provinces like,
Bulacan to the north, Rizal to the east, Cavite to the south-west and Laguna to the
south. And studying its demographic status, serves a great number. In building your
market strategies, these are just some of the factors that should be studied.
People in NCR are prone to some illness, since it is a crowded place. Virus
and bacteria are everywhere. It is not forbidden that the city is the first host of the
virus to our country. And the government advises us to take good care of our
health, especially our immune system. The virus is prone to elderly people and
younger ages.
And establishing a healthcare business is a great opportunity. Serving them
with their healthcare necessities. To lessen the probability of catching and
spreading any disease. It also helps if we avoid going outside, that is why the
MedicOlS is a knock on your doorstep application. This is a good start to a market
plan, evaluating the customers with their wants and needs. Also analyzing the
demographic status of the target location.
MedicOlS provides the wants and needs of the target market in Metro Manila.
To achieve this, we build such marketing strategies and techniques to help the
business to be recognized and grow. From the market analysis to the sales
strategies.

A. Market Analysis
1. Customer Analysis
With the rise of the aging population is the increase in the demand for
health services by the elderly.  A study done by Racelis et al (2003) on the share of
health expenditure of Filipino elderly on the National Health Account, the elderly is
“relatively heavy consumers of personal health care (22%) and relatively light
consumers of public health care (5%).” From out-of-pocket costs, the aged are
heavy users of care provided by medical centers, hospitals, non-hospital health
facilities and traditional care facilities (Health And Welfare Of Senior Citizen
Program). Which is included in the service of the mobile application, providing the
medical necessities of the target market.
Based on Growing Old And Poor In The Philippines, Republic Act 9994,
also known as the Expanded Senior Citizens Act of 2010, defines senior citizens as
individuals aged 60 years old and above. According to the Philippine Statistics
Authority, there were 7.5 million senior citizens in the country, accounting for 7.5
percent (7,548, 769) of the total population, as of its latest census in 2015. And
Metro Manila is on the third spot with the highest number of Senior Citizens next to
Region III and Region IV-A, accounting for 11.3 percent (851,214) of the Senior
Citizens population (Infographics for Population and Housing). The 11.3 percent of
the entire population, is a great number to conduct the first operation of the service.

https://onenews.ph/growing-old-and-poor-in-the-philippines
MedicOlS is a helpful application, since it is a one click process not just
for your medicines but also medical necessities. Elderly people are not just the
service possible target market, but also teenagers and middle ages. People who
are body and health conscious can also use the application. Based on NATIONAL
CAPITAL REGION, the National Capital Region (NCR), also known as Metropolitan
Manila has a total population of 12,877,253 in the 2015 census. The population of
the NCR increased by 1.58 percent annually, on average, during the period 2010 to
2015. The ages 15 up to 64 the economically active population and actual or
potential members of the workforce, constitute a total of 68.89% (8,871,449). Old
dependent population consisting of the senior citizens, those aged 65 and over,
total 3.93% (506,050). The computed Age Dependency Ratios mean that among
the population of National Capital Region (NCR), there are 39 youth dependents to
every 100 of the working age population; there are 6 aged/senior citizens to every
100 of the working population; and overall, there are 45 dependents (young and
old-age) to every 100 of the working population.

to be skin-conscious, with the medical necessities provided by the service it is an
opportunity. Millennials are good at criticizing; they have a big impact on every
product/service. Once they have the chance to utilize a certain product/service, they
refer to it immediately. Youths are impatient, with the fast deliver of the parcels is
what they want. With these numbers, the business does not stand to be a flop on
the market. Hence, it has the chance to be known to the wagon.

3. Market Potential
3.1. Current Trade Area
The demand for a certain product/service is one of the reasons and
opportunity to start a business. In studying the number of businesses and industries
in NCR, that has a service for any healthcare related starting 2010 which is ten (10)
years ago, is not stable. The scale of healthcare businesses in Metro Manila is not
enough to deliver or serve the number of potential customers. Which is based on
calculations, almost six (6) millions of people. The chart below shows the number of
businesses and industry that is healthcare service.

Based on a source, it is not mentioned that these businesses do deliver

such service of the application. Hence, it is for pick up. With the condition of elderly,
this is impossible. It is too risky for them to go outside. These establishments also
serve so many customers, that even the queue is impossible to finish. With the use
of the application, this long queue can be avoided.

3.2. Market Size and Trends

Elderly, middle age and youths can use the application but the most
target of the application to give service are the elderly who are having a hard time
buying their medical needs during this new normal.  Looking at the chart above of
the 2015 population rate, we can calculate the number of potential customers to
consume the market.  As per the philatlas.com, in 2015 there are 12, 877,253
population around Metro Manila less the population of under 14 years old and 65
years old up which is 4,005,804 as they can be the consumer but not the user of
the application or service provided. The number of potential customers now would
be 8,871,449.
Penetration Rate = (Number of Customers ÷ Target Market Size) ×
100
Market volume = Number of target customers × Penetration rate
Thus, the target market size is 12,877,253, and the number of target
customers is 8,871,449. In calculating the penetration rate given the formula above,
8,871,449 divided by 12,877,253 then multiplied by 100 is equal to 68.89%. In
calculating the market volume given the formula above, 8,871,449 multiplied by
68.89% (0.6889) is equal to 6,111,541.22. The 6,111,541 people in Metro Manila
would be the estimated potential customers of the application. It is estimated since,
the ages under 14 and 65 up is not included due they are not possible the
application’s user but provided by the service.
After coming up with a great number of the market volume, MedicOlS
stands a chance to be included in the trade. How will it click to the public?   Beside
the thought that medical needs are quite necessary, using technology it helps us to
mobilize and modernize everything. The statisca.com provided a graph that shows
the “Share of e-commerce activities of internet users in the Philippines as of 3rd
quarter 2019”  below.

For the reason that the proposed business is a service application, it

needs a concept and layout of the said mobile application. It also stated in the
unique features, that the software is designed for elderly’s convenience. These
include bigger fonts and a bigger size of the product's image. Figure below shows
the home based on the application, for its market trend.
B. Marketing and Sales Strategies
1. Place/Location
As a service type of business, this means it does not have a physical
appearance. Hence, the customers can approach to our customer service place
located at Blk 04 Phase 20 Bldng 6 Rivas St. Manila City Metro Manila. The service
of the application will be conducted throughout the National Capital Region (NCR).
NCR was the chosen place to first start the business. As stated in the overview of
the market plan, Metro Manila is an excellent choice place to start your business. It
comes up with a great number of its demographic. And looking to its geographic
location, is a wide city. A lot of people can easily notice your business, and rumors
spread so fast. These numbers can help your service to be known to the market.
As the business grows, it will start to service other regions. Starting a
business does not mean it expands in just a year after it started. There's a process
for everything, and patience is a virtue. As Vincent Van Gogh stated, “Great things
are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things brought together.”
Map of NCR

2. Price/Quality Relationship (Pricing Policy, Buying Patterns)

Pricing is the main source of income to a business. Setting a caught eye

price, plus a good quality is what the customers want. Based on (How to price your
product: 5 common strategies), one of the stated strategies is competitive pricing -
setting a price based on what the competition charges. Competitive pricing lessens
the comparison of the customers. The price of the purchased product will be
depending upon the partnered drugstore in the area. On the other hand, the
shipping fee in the market starts from Php 40, MedicOlS itself has its own courier.
The shipping fee starts from Php 50 with additional Php 6 per kilometer and same
day delivery. For every minimum purchase of Php 2000 in one receipt, the free
shipping will be applied.
Customers are always right. A quote that is always used by customers, in
buying goods. They are the number one source of income of a business.
Customers have a buying pattern; it is their decision-making in purchasing. Not all
the time they are buying such goods, since customers are budgeting also their
incomes. The table below shows the process of buying patterns of customers.

3. Promotional Strategies
3.1. Packaging
Quality is a must and ensuring the packaging will improve a trust.  Since
it is a Medical Online Shop it offers its own courier service to deliver at your
convenience. Mentioned in its unique feature it will be deliver same day since it is
provided by the partnered drugstore around Metro Manila. The packaging will be
based on the drugstore itself.  A consideration may apply to change the packaging
if it's broken unintentionally by the med driver, thus the med driver plays an
important role in delivering your parcel neat and presentable.  In addition to this, the
rider will hand two (2) receipts as he handed the parcel. The first receipt shows the
total amount of the purchased, while the second receipt serves as the proof of
transaction with the application, listed in here the total purchase and the shipping
fee for authenticity. The second receipt is for the compilation of transactions of the
mobile application.
How will it be recognized as a service from MedicOlS? The management
will provide a sticker of the logo to be attached on the packaging of the parcel. The
rider will have its assigned uniform that he is working with MedicOlS Service.  It will
serve as the trademark of the service.
3.2. Public Relations

As shown in the organizational chart the duties and responsibilities of the

Public Relations in the business concept, they are designated to make the
company’s image to the public. Public Relations officers are intended to practice
and perform a series of activities to build the company’s reputation. The image of
the company is the basis of the customers, if to use or try the service. Inferior image
leads to failure.

To attain an up to the mark company reputation, the Public Relation

officer can use the strategies below:

The process of strategy starts with planning which consist of:

a. Determining key results area

b. Define roles

c. Selecting and setting objectives

d. Preparing action plans relating to programming, scheduling,

budgeting, fixing accountability and establishing rules and procedures.

After using the strategies, it is now to perform the Public Relations

process that is enlisted below:

a. Research-listening: This involves probing the opinions, attitudes and

reactions of those concerned with the acts and policies of an organization, then

chosen course to all those who may be affected and whose support is essential.
"Here's what we did and why."

d. Evaluation: This involves evaluating the results of the programmed

and the effectiveness of techniques used: “How Did We Do?"

3.3. Advertising
Creativity catches everyone's attention. Hence, in making an
advertisement for a certain business make your poster, video and even speech
must capture their time. Since the application itself is an online platform of
purchasing, and we are in a modern technology which you can see everything. The
best way of advertisement is the digital media. This includes digital videos, (video
ads), digital images (poster), webpages (Facebook page), digital audio (radio), and
social media (Facebook etc.).
Digital media is a whole package to publicize your business. Based on
(Leading social media platforms among internet users in the Philippines as of 3rd
quarter of 2019), as of the third quarter of 2019, Facebook and YouTube were the
most popular social media platforms in the Philippines. Within the same period,
Filipinos spent nearly four hours online on social media. In 2020, Facebook’s user
population was over 800 million in Asia. In the Philippines alone, there were almost
74 million Facebook users as of 2019. Furthermore, it held nearly 93 percent of the
country’s social media market shares as of 2020. Filipinos rely on social media
apps as a primary source of news and a platform for product placement. These
numbers will help the business to be recognized not just by the city, but it will
advance the entire country.
3.4. Customer Service
Quoted a definition from Indeed Career Guide; “Customer service is both
a type of job and a set of job skills. As a job, customer service professionals are
responsible for addressing customer needs and ensuring they have a good
experience. As a skill set, customer service entails several qualities like active
listening, empathy, problem solving and communication. Customer service is used
in many jobs at every level.”
Building a relationship with your customer will help your business to gain
a loyal customer that may recommend your business to others to attract more
consumers. The Medical Online Shopping application is an online-based shopping
transaction that does not have a physical store but on the MedicOlS app will
provide a customer service place to visit for complaints. And since one of our
objectives is to lessen people going outside, the application provided a customer
service button where you can send a message to the said service for complaints
and feedback.
The customer service chat button can be use but in case the customer
wants to further elaborate his concern he may contact the telephone number
provided or pay visit at the office of the MedicOlS stated on the application. The
office address will serve as the office of the said service that the customer my feel
free to visit and will serve as the office of the management for handling the meeting
regarding the expanding business.
