As a member of society, give at least 3 things you notice about gender issues in your everyday life and

explain why? Answer in 2-3 sentences per issue.

Equality, the state of being equal, is one word that is easy to understand but yet hard to apply. It is the
root of all the gender issues we all face today, as they are not treated equally and disregarded as a part
of society. As I have life, I have seen many issues about ‘’LGBTQ’’ in social media, news, even in everyday
life. From my perspective, lack of equality is the main source why they receive harsh treatment from
people in society. They see that not straight persons are lower than them, so they have the guts to do
incorrect things to them. They even think that members of it are the cancer of the society, and should
be not part of it. If we accept our diversities and consider one another, we can live in a society we all
wanted.

The tongue is a small part of the body, yet can hurt the feelings of someone. Many members of LGBTQ
got verbally abused because of their gender and sometimes disregarded as a part of society. They
received hurtful words that degraded their individuality as a person. Some catcalled them, some even
insult their parents because of who they are today. Also, some receive death threats and insults coming
from the different people from the society, even their family and relatives. It happens because they are
not completely accepted in society today, and some regarded them as garbage. They have no choice but
to accept it even though it hurts, because of the society they have living in.

As I read articles on social media, I have seen many cases of members of LGBTQ got physically abused.
There is a video I have watched that shows a group of teenagers kicked a gay person and even chased
him as he run to seek help. It got to my soul, as I see him run fast as he could to run away from those
boys. Physical abuse is not rare in today’s society as they have no space to be a part of it, and are
regarded as ‘’salot ng lipunan’’. They have been punched, kicked, and thrown as they did not do
anything bad to deserve that kind of treatment. Those who do that kind of thing should be the ones who
are not accepted in society, because of their inhumane behavior.
