The learner produces a detailed abstract of information gathered from the
various academic texts read

• Understand that Purpose/Goal, audience, role, And Topic influence
the production and comprehension of a text
• Differentiates language used in academic texts from various
disciplines
• Explains the specific ideas contained in various academic texts

IV. PROCEDURE
4.1 Review
The teacher will give an activity where in the students must give their idea
about what is academic text and typical text.
4.2 Presentation of new lesson

(Discussion)

The teacher will provide contextual meaning of academic text (The teacher
will explain further as the students ask more questions)

4.3 Presentation of Concepts


Continuation of Discussion

The teacher will present the concepts about the certain considerations in
writing academic text and key characteristics of academic writing.

4.4 Develop Mastery


An engagement activity, which will use the three given excerpts to fil out the
chart about the academic style writing and the considerations.

4.5 Practical Applications of Concepts and skills on daily living / Integration of


values and social issues

To test their practical knowledge about the academic text, students will be
given an activity wherein they have to write their own academic text based on
the given situation.

4.6 Generalization and abstraction about the lesson

Students will have short quiz

4.7 Evaluation

For evaluation, students need to write their reflection about the topic.
In your learning log, write a reflection on the importance of considering the purpose,
audience, and your own role in writing a text. You may include experiences to support
your points.
