Section B: Event Details

Round 1 Qualifier: Will be held at…

Frisco Tap House and Brewery in Columbia (6695 Dobbin Road Columbia, MD 21045)
on May 12th 2011 from 6pm-8pm. In this round the field of contestants will be narrowed
down to the overall best 8 entries. This will be the overall 8 best beers (as decided by the
judges) regardless of style/type of beer. Contest judges will have full discretion to narrow
the field of contestants to the top 8 based on their experience.

Round 2 Finale: Will be held at…

Alonso’s (413-415 West Cold Spring Lane Baltimore, MD 21210) on May 15th 2011 from
4pm-6pm. In this round the narrowed down field of contestants will be judged using the
BJCP score sheet. At this stage there will be a minimum of 4 judges, each with beer contest
judging and or home brewing experience. At the completion of this stage a finale winner
will be chosen. All judging and scores are at the discretion of the contest judges.

-The Finale winner will be crowned the “King of the Baltimore Home Brew”. The
winner will receive a trip for two to the Great American Beer Festival in Colorado from
September 29th- October 1st 2011. The winner’s guest must also be at least 21. Flight and
accommodations TBD. The Flight will be from BWI airport.

Section C: Submission Details

1. Entrants do not need to be from Baltimore


2. Each brewer may only enter 1 beer. So make sure you turn in your best brew for the
contest
3. This is an amateur home brew contest. The homebrew must not be brewed at a place that
brews beverages for commercial purposes, whether for production or any other purpose.
This includes brewpubs and other brew-on-premise establishments. This should not be a
beer that is brewed for commercial sale.
4. Contestants have multiple ways to submit entries.
a. Beer submissions can be brought directly to the qualifying on-site event on May
12th at the Frisco Tap House and Brewery in Columbia no earlier than 5pm on
the day of the event.
b. Submission can also be turned in ahead of time (No later than May 9th 2011).

and video recordings and biographical information in any manner or media
whatsoever (whether now known or hereafter devised) anywhere in the world in
perpetuity for the purpose of advertising and trade, without further compensation,
unless prohibited by law.

contest applicants
