Arguments
Their President kept on fighting and defended his vision and position to the world in tackling the rising
sea level that was resulted from the Climate Change due to global human activities as an example,
which he had insisted on how many times in his campaign for document approval in reducing a certain
degree with 350 ppm and 1.5 degrees Celsius, and therefore, saving the sinking island somehow.
The adaptation policy agreement being contested was held at the Copenhagen Climate Change Summit
along with all the leaders from around the world to discuss the effect of the scenario in convincing the
committee for a solution on how they can save the Maldives as an island with low-lying none rising to
more than 1.80 meters above sea level throughout the country with Figure 01, part of the island.
Indeed, Maldives President Mohamed Nasheed is an environmentalist protector with political will and a
heroic for the country in fighting the existential threat of Climate Change phenomenon to his small coral
islands, which has only 80% of the total land area. Nevertheless, the entire island with less than one
meter above the mean sea level and as for their speculation might lose the country, the Maldives on the
map.
Conclusion
The author’s view and as a CONCLUSION whether do you agree with why or why not, obviously and
indeed, the author truly admires the way he did for the country. His leadership approaches as an

example and strategies, the initiative that has been done for the sake of his countrymen and for the
island wherein they live, the love for his country against all odds that seems very difficult for a small
country like the Maldives to the world. However, with strong emphasis, dedication and love for the
environment, Climate Change has been addressed through adaptation and mitigation principles.
Recommendations
With all the aspirations happening and changes that have been done in the country, the process of
humanism and affection in helping neighboring countries who are in need must be observed.
The policy approvals mean a lot not only for the Maldives but the entire countries around the globe,
which means, becoming resilient more than the usual environment they have in the past decades.
Disturbances in the country towards urbanism in the heart of climate change phenomenon is an essential
aspect of land use planning, the spatial patterns of recovery must be considered within the landscape
ecology to form a versatile sustainable environment. Most importantly and highly recommend that the
said policies must be included in the process through landscape planning, design and environmental
management incorporating the modern strategic application.
