Trusting in God

Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God
your needs, and don't forget to thank Him for His answers. If you do
this, you will experience God's peace, which is far more wonderful
than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your
thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ
(Philippians 4:6-7).

The sick, elderly lady was afraid she was going to die. The nurse who was
present did not seem to think this was the case. I asked her if she was
ready to die. She said did not know if her sins were forgiven, and had
asked many times. I quoted the Scripture verse to her, “If we confess our
sins, God is faithful to forgive us”. I explained how Satan will cause doubts,
and that God will forgive us when we ask him to. After giving a prayer upon
her acceptance, she thanked me for such a nice prayer.

It is sad how the enemy of our soul, will attempt to trick us causing doubts
in our relationship with God. We can know we are ready to die; we do not
have to wonder or doubt. God’s Word is true; what He says, He will do. We
can count on that. It is up to us to reach out in faith and trust him. Before I
left, I encouraged her to thank God, and offer praise to him every day.

Praise is what God seeks. It strengths our faith in him, eases doubt, and
soon God’s peace calms our hearts. Praise can activate faith, and doubts
will flee. ©Rev. Jeanne McIntosh 2011
