Hi again, guys!

This week’s exploration is really easy. So, let’s start!

The first topic we need to explore is making plural nouns. It can be very
similar to Spanish, but there are some specific rules that we need to memorize
and use.
Regular Plurals:
Regular plurals are those that follow a rule: adding S, ES, or IES.
Doesn’t it sound familiar to you?

+ies: Add -ies when your noun ends in a consonant and a y.

- Dictionary
- Country
- Proxy
- Bay
- Toy
- Ferry
+es: Add -es when your noun ends in s, sh, ch or x.
- Boarding pass
- Watch
- Brush
- Mix
+s: And add and -s when your noun does not have any of the previous
terminations.
- Train
- Computer
- Boy

Irregular Plurals:
Irregular plurals are nouns that don’t follow the rule. They have
independent plural forms.
The most common are:
- a man
- a woman
- a child
- a person

Great! Now, the second topic we need to study is Adjectives! Their mission in
English and Spanish is the same! But using them in English is a little
different! Let’s see:
1. The usual positions of an adjective are:
a. After the verb To Be: Usain Bolt is fast!
b. Before the noun: The fast car is Juan Pablo Montoya’s.

2. Adjectives in English do not have plural forms:

a. A beautiful cat  70 million beautiful cats.
b. A different person  Two different people.
c. An interesting class  Seven interesting classes.

Alright! We come to our third and final topic: Imperatives

The imperative is a verb form. Its function is to tell orders or instructions or to
ask for favors. They are very easy to use: Just use the base form of the verb!
- Please, stay still for the photo!
- Show me the documents of the carl.
- First, go to aula virtual, then click the name of our class and finally look at
module two.

If you want to make negative imperatives, just add don’t before the verb!
- Please, don’t move!
- Don’t get out of the car.
- Don’t go to Campus virtual.

Another type of imperatives are suggestions. If you want to make a

suggestion rather than give an order, use Let’s:
- Let’s watch a movie this weekend!
- Let’s ask the teacher about the homework!
- Let’s buy some snacks!
And if you want to make negative suggestions, just add not:
- Let’s not talk about it, please.
- Let’s not drive.
- Let’s not go to that party.
