Lesson 2

The statement of the problem contains the problem to be investigated. The

statement of the problem is specifically identified through research questions or
investigative questions. The answer to these questions will be derived from the
actual gathering of data. These questions will serve as a guide of specific data that
you would want to obtain. This part includes the general or major statement or
question and will be followed by specific statements or questions. The introductory
statement contains the main purpose or objective of the study.
Sample Statement of the Problem:

This study will assess the growth of pechay, mustard and lettuce grown through soil based farming
and through robotics hydroponics. Specifically, it answered the following questions:

1. What is the growth of pechay, mustard, and lettuce plants grown through soil based farming in terms of:

1.1 plant height;

1.2 number of leaves;

1.3 leaf length;

1.4 leaf breadth;

1.5 length of the roots and

1.6 weight of the plants?

2. What is the growth of pechay, mustard, and lettuce plants grown through robotics hydroponics in terms of:

2.1 plant height;

2.2 number of leaves;

2.3 leaf length;

2.4 leaf breadth;

2.5 length of the roots and

2.6 weight of the plants?

3. Is there a significant difference between the growth of pechay, mustard and lettuce plants grown
through soil based farming and through robotic hydroponics?
