Highlights of Placement during 2019-20

UVCE is one of the top most colleges in placements among all the engineering colleges in Karnataka
and is constantly securing one in the top 5 place in recruitments.
Some of the highlights of placement in UVCE during 2019-20 are as follows:
UVCE has hosted around 138 companies out of which 62 companies have visited UVCE for the first
time. Atlassian, Harman, Refinitiv, Persistent Systems, Epsilon, Manhattan Associates, Finflux,
Reliance Jio, Clumino, BlogVault, Moonraft, Cermati, Fluke IDC, TheMath Company to name a few.
On an average each registered student will be eligible for a minimum of 3 offers which are
categorized as Golden Open Dream, Open Dream, Dream IT, Mass and Internship.
Companies offering more than Rs. 30 LPA are considered as Golden Open Dream (GOD).
Companies offering more than Rs. 5.5 LPA (Rs. 6.5 LPA from 2020-21) are considered as Open Dream
(OD).
Companies offering less than Rs. 5.5 LPA (Rs. 6.5 LPA from 2020-21) are considered as Dream IT
(DIT).
Companies offering profiles in core sectors are considered as Dream Core (DC).
Companies hiring a huge number of students are considered as Mass/Generic recruiters offering
about Rs. 3 to 4 LPA.
107 Offers have been made under Golden Open Dream/OpenDream Category by Atlassian, SAP,
Microfocus, Philips, Wipro, Harman, Dell, Manhattan Associates, Microchip, VMware, Oracle, etc.
Following are the top recruiters who have visited and selected students from the college:
1. Atlassian offered Rs. 49.75 LPA CTC and recruited 2 students.
2. SAP offered Rs. 20.5 LPA CTC and recruited 11 students.
3. VMware offered Rs. 19.5 LPA CTC and recruited 1 student.
4. Microfocus offered Rs. 11.5 LPA CTC and recruited 6 students.
5. Conflux offered Rs. 11 LPA CTC and recruited 3 students.
6. Harman offered Rs. 9 LPA CTC and recruited 10 students.
112 Offers have been made under DreamIT Category by Analytics Quotient, Persistent Systems, EY
GDS, Netcracker Technologies, Epsilon, Unisys, Musigma, etc with highest package of Rs. 5.3 LPA
offered by Unisys (3 were students recruited)
19 Offers have been made under Dream Core Category by Mistral, Saankya Labs, Bosch Ltd, VKC
Group, Faurecia, Axis Cades etc with highest package of Rs. 5 LPA offered by Mistral Solutions (7
students were recruited)
177 Offers have been made under Mass Category by Infosys, CTS etc with highest package of Rs. 4
LPA by CTS.
77 (B.E) and 37 (M.E) Internship Offers have been made by Cisco, Rakuten India, SAP Labs, Juniper
Networks, Texas Instruments, Oracle, Volvo, Philips, Accolite, Ivanti etc with highest stipend being Rs.
40,000 by Cisco and Ivanti. Most of the internship are converted into full-time offer.

A short term training has been planned for the unplaced students after the exams for enhancing
their placement opportunity. They will be shared the details of vacancies as and when it is received
by TPO from companies seeking the details of the unplaced students.

Programs facilitated by TPO

1. Pre Placement Training before the placement drive for 4th Year B.E students for about 80
Hours before the commencement of 7th semester.
2. Induction Program for 1st Year B.E/B.Tech students including sessions in Soft skills,
Confidence Building etc
3. TPO classes for all B.E / B.Tech students are made compulsory and has been introduced in
the timetable itself covering topics such as Logical Reasoning, Data Interpretation, Team
Building, Public Speaking, Personal Branding, Progression, Number System, Vedic Maths, etc
for about 20 Hours for 1st Year, 40 Hours for 2nd Year and 80 Hours for 3rd Year.
4. Organized Inspiron 2019, an inter-collegiate-techno-managerial fest that included mock
placement activity wherein Alumni of UVCE working in industries have been made as HRs to
conduct mock interviews for the students of UVCE.
5. Machine Learning Workshop for about 40 hours has been conducted on weekends by
Professional Trainers to interested UG and PG students
6. Soft skills training program sponsored by Infosys Foundation has been conducted for 6 days
(40 hours) to 50 students to develop their soft skills.
7. A 12 hour workshop by Microfocus Technologies on Docker Technology and Containerisation
for the final year students of CSE and ISE students.
8. Girls Student Outreach Program (GSOP) by Dell to train around 11 girl students in various
computer science topics like Data Structures, Java, Python, etc.
9. The Training and Placement Office also coordinated with other organisations visited UVCE for
training to specific students.
10. UVCE has entered understanding with Cognizant Technologies to have students’ ambassador
program.
11. Student ambassador program with Volvo India Pvt Ltd has been instituted. MoU between
UVCE and VOLVO is in the final stage of signing.
12. Students are trained by professionals under the program – “Mentor Together” sponsored by
Cisco.
13. KATALYST extends its program to some of the UVCE’s meritorious girl students with low
income background as defined by KATALYST’s selection criteria.
14. Fund a Child India – a free training program for girls from the low income communities offers
around 512 hours of training and 250 hours of mentoring during the 4 years of engineering
to the girl students to enhance their skills.
15. Juniper Networks Collaboration with UVCE is helping students gain hands-on experience with
the latest in network and automation. Juniper Networks Cloud and Automation Academy
(JNCAA) program is one of its kind specialised in offering Juniper Training & Certification for
UVCE Students. Students of UG and PG programs are provided with training and certification
in various topics like Service Provider Routing and Switching, Enterprise Routing and
Switching, Data Centre, Cloud, Automation and DevOps, MIST AI and Design.
16. UVCE Foundation has proposed to offer financial assistance like Air fare, initial living
expenses etc in the US to students who have secured admission into US Universities with
scholarship.

As the quote says – “Alone we can do only little; together we can do so much”, the entire system’s
support and coordination has made the training and placement of 2019-20 a huge success.

At the outset, Training and Placement Office, UVCE heartily congratulates all the students who got
placed during the academic year 2019-20 and their parents and faculty members for the constant
support.

and Dr P Deepa Shenoy, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Bangalore University, Bangalore for extending
the necessary cooperation in the activities and programs of TPO.
The TPO UVCE is thankful to the Chairpersons, faculty members and technical staff of all the
departments of UVCE for enriching requisite basics and advanced topics of engineering which helped
the students’ bag offers from various esteemed organisations.
The TPO UVCE is thankful to the UVCE Foundation for providing the interior infrastructure like chairs,
tables, wooden panels, etc in three rooms of iconic building which can accommodate about 100
students to participate in TPO programs.
The TPO UVCE is thankful to Quantech Origin, Bangalore for providing appropriate pre-training and
helping the students face the interviews with full confidence.
The TPO UVCE is thankful to the Cognizant Technologies for sponsoring International Conference
held at UVCE and Rakuten India Ltd for complete sponsoring Inspiron 19, an inter-collegiate
Techno-Managerial fest where about 500 students participated in around 15 events including Mock
Placements.
