Leisure is a growing industry, but people no longer entertain themselves as much as

they used to because the use of modern technology has made them less creative. What
is your opinion?

No one can deny the importance of entertainment in our life. However, while entertainment industry is
more and more developing, many people are beginning to realize that they cannot get entertained as
much as they did in the past due to the development of modern technology. In my perspective, I agree
with this idea and I will be mentioning my points in the upcoming paragraphs.

It is true that the modern technology in recreational activities has helped the expressions of human
creativity go further in some areas. In fact, nowadays Hollywood movies, particularly in some science
fiction works is more attractive with some astonishing special effects due to the up-to-date computer
graphics technology. In addition, many film producers also apply 3D, 4D effects to their movies so as to
deliver the audiences’ amazing visual experiences such as Avatar (2009), Jurassic World (2015).
Moreover, with the invention of the Internet, game lovers across the globe can explore the fun of online
entertainment in a virtual world full of mystery and adventure.

However, in most cases, the overuse of modern technology has made us less entertaining and creative
than it could have been. Take the music industry as an example. Today’s singer confined to studios are
usually recording with automated tunes available on the internet and their voice are adjusted to be
more beautiful thanks to modern devices. Furthermore, lots of musicians’ songs become banal because
of lazy copying other tunes or contents. As a result, despite the mass production of popular songs and
music, we rarely find a truly remarkable piece. Just only 10 years ago, we still played many traditional
games such as “Hide and Seek” or “Drop the Handkerchief” instead of sitting in front of a computer
screen much time and playing games. These activities offered us the real excitement of going outside
and having fun with our friends. Therefore, the popularity of modern entertainment forms such as
watching TV and playing video games have changed our life a lot; we become lazier, less innovative and
active when rarely joining many outdoor activities and following a sedentary and isolated lifestyle.

In conclusion, the developing entertainment industry not only has made our life more comfortable and
has created more leisure options for us. Nevertheless, if we overuse these modern technologies, it will
take away the real pleasure of creative entertainment.
