RE: TRAINING PROGRAMME ON LEADERSHIP SKILLS

2. Tanzania Public Service College (TPSC) was established in 2000 under the
ambit of the Executive Agencies Act, No. 30 of 1997 in order to support the ongoing
Public Service Reform Programme by providing training, consultancy and applied
research interventions to the Public service. It is from this background whereby the
College has designed and developed the above mentioned programme in order to equip
public servants with necessary leadership skills for efficient performance of their duties
and the public service in general.

3. The programme will cover the following:-

 New Public Management (NPN): An overview of Reforms and individual
accountability in the Public Service,
 Overview of Performance Management System,
 Basic Managerial & Leadership skills: Strategic thinking vs. Strategic
planning,
 Public Service Management and Employment Policy, 1999
  Public service Act, 2002 & Public service Regulations, 2003
 Public Service Ethics & Good Governance,
 Ethical Decision making techniques,
 Team building techniques,
 Coaching & Mentoring: Giving & Receiving feedback,
 Motivation,
 Customer Care,
 Supervision and Supervisory Skills.

4. This is a two weeks programme targeted to Administrative Officers, Human

Resource Officers, Head of Departments and Supervisors from various MDAs & LGAs.
The training will be conducted in Tanga as follows:

5. The cost of the programme is TZS. Tsh.1,300,000/= per participant covering:

tuition fee, venue, learning materials, tea, lunch, refreshments and a trip to Amboni
Caves. All payments should be made at least one week before the commencement of
the programme through Control Number after confirmation of participation.
