Across the globe, many countries have sought to provide their people with good

free healthcare services. Affordable and free medical treatment involves free or low-cost

health care for every individual. Nevertheless, as mentioned below, free healthcare has both

merits and demerits.

Advantages

Free medical services provide everyone with access to medical care. Most people are

in the middle and poor class worldwide. Without assistance, they may not afford to meet

medical bills. The only assistance they can get from their respective governments in

healthcare with no charges. Free healthcare provides individuals with subsidized or no

charges at all for medical services they receive[CITATION Hea191 \l 1033 ]. Free health

care reduces the cost of dealing with private insurances. It helps the governments save on

some costs because it is involved directly with running health care facilities and health

workers without third parties. Free health care also enhances the public's overall health.

Readily available and inexpensive health services encourage people to look for medical help

to protect their health in an appropriate[CITATION Hea191 \l 1033 ], hence considerably

enhancing the nation's overall health.

Disadvantages

Free healthcare provides a perfect impression but yet it has its demerits. Free

healthcare also can lower motivation for inventions and innovation in the medical field. A

major reduction in financing leads to less innovation. Second, free healthcare can foster

carelessness for people since they are guaranteed free or affordable healthcare services.

Consequently, people take no precaution to exercise healthy living, which might lead to

higher health issues. Finally, a nation with free medical services can easily get into liabilities

due to the huge amount of funds required to run such a program[CITATION Hea191 \l

1033 ]. A huge budget may lead rise in the national debt.

Conclusion

In conclusion, free medical care is necessary to improve the general health of each

country's citizens. For many countries worldwide, however, this program has never simple.

Nevertheless, the positive thing is that the benefits dominate significantly, which is why all

governments need to embrace it as a program to enhance their healthcare systems and public

safety.
