Answer to the question No-1

To have an excellent management for any company, it is vital to have good decision-making
capability, business strategies, employee management and future strategies. Electra Products, Inc
was going through several problems. One major problem was declining market share because of
the increased competition from both local and foreign sectors. Besides, lack of communication
between the departments in the company was threatening the company’s sustainability which
encouraged employees to look for different opportunities. To tackle these issues, Top
management in the company needs to make decisions for making plans for the company, which
ensures managerial effectiveness. Besides, the management needs to organize the resources in
order to implement the plan. As Elektra Products had financial loss for the lack of planning,
organizing and efficient implementation so in order to make a better management arena of the
company, these conditions need to be well maintained. Besides, Top management could assign
first-line managers to form teams consisting of employees from different departments and
provide the teams with criteria and deadlines for implementing short-term plans. A future
strategy is needed for maintaining relations with other companies for the distribution and
marketing of the products with proper advertising in order to attract consumers and manage
diversity by having key alliances, which leads the company to contribute in national and
international markets results in future opportunities for the employees to come up with new
ideas.

Top management should also take extreme measures to increase empowerment. Moreover, it can
be done by hiring top universities to ensure a standard pay for performance in terms of skills and
experiences. Also, the transparency process among workers should be initiated so that all the
employees could have access to the information and the flexibility for the employees to work
needs to be ensured.

Finally, the structure and environment of the workplace could be reformed by adding more
exciting and creative challenges to it, which would increase the eagerness and efficiency of
employees. This system will increase communication and trust between departments and
evaluate any problem they face from a different perspective. The teams will share their ideas
beneficial for the company. Top management could also arrange a monthly discussion session
where ideas from the teams could be assessed and measured in terms of effectiveness for the
company.

Answer to the question no-2

Elektra Products, Inc. has been dealing with several issues in recent years. Therefore, the new
CEO has launched an empowerment campaign.
Barbara got an assignment as a team leader for the manufacturing team. Her team presented
several proposals to the department leaders in that job, and those ideas got rejected. According to
us, Barbra could have presented her ideas to the department heads; the ideas mentioned below.
● Instead of a personnel swap between sales and manufacturing, they could focus more on the
individual departmental improvement so that the employees from both departments become
more comfortable with their job. Having two different departments sometimes can be hectic, so
after achieving the targeted goal, this swap can be applied for further knowledge.
● If the team had reduced the refund money, we think there would not be any problem.
● Information about the future product to the salespeople is risky; thus, if the team discusses
their future work with the advertisement department and starts promoting the product as an
upcoming latest product, Barbara’s team could have avoided the problem.

Answer to the question No-3

In this case, Barbara Russell is a mid-level operational manager functionalized in leadership. To

come out from the dilemma, Barbara is facing in taking the decision, if one of us were her, he
would push slowly for reform and work for gradual support from the other teams.
Because as a mid-level manager, he will perform the Disturbance handler role in the Decision-
Making category. So, in this case, he will have to react to the organization's disturbances or
unexpected events, whether internal or external. Moreover, He will have to decide what
corrective actions should have to take to resolve the problems. To conclude, as a leader, he will
push slowly for reform and work for gradual support from the other teams to come out from this
obstacle.
