K-12 - Guidelines For Subject Matter Experts
Information
1. K-12 Mock Test Modules are currently implemented for the Class 10 and Class 12
Students only and would be extended for the Class 9 and 11 students as well in due
course of time.
2. For the different boards and councils separate tests shall be conducted and the
formats and patterns should be as per the guidelines issued by the councils or
boards.
3. A Student from a specific discipline will be able to take the tests in all the subjects
associated with the discipline for a single enrollment.
4. The candidates are not allowed to access books, instruments or internet. However,
the virtual keypad and onscreen calculator are allowed.
6. The marks allotted for each question can vary with the nature of the questions, vide
Knowledge-based, Reasoning-based and Analytical-based. From time to time the
guidelines and the formats released from the highest academic bodies will be
followed and the same will be notified. The co-operation of the subject matter
experts is also solicited in this regard who are attached with the different boards /
councils.
7. BLANK format has been enclosed herewith to prepare the Q&A by the Subject Matter
Experts (SMEs), whoever have been engaged.
8. Each SME shall contribute the multiple-choice type questions with 4 answer options,
as per the BLANK format along with indicating the right answer option, and
providing the brief explanation if any.

9. Equal emphasize shall be given on the Subjects, as opted by the SME from a
particular discipline to prepare the Q&A. The respective Subject, discipline needs to
be mentioned against each question, as per the BLANK format.
10. Questions shall be of Multiple-Choice type with 4 answer options provided. In case
of linked questions as for Reasons-Assertions, the ordering of the questions must be
clearly cited.
13. Questions with diagrams are also allowed, where respective diagrams shall be
uploaded in the respective Question / Answer Text boxes.
14. Questions which are commonly available in Text books, Q&A Books, internet may
kindly be avoided. In such cases, the language of the questions and numerical
figures (wherever applicable) may kindly be changed.
Methodologies
15. The concerned SMEs are hereby requested to review their final set of Q&A for any
typographical errors specially with reference to the mathematical symbols wherever
applicable.
16. The Q&A once prepared by the concerned SME, shall be forwarded to the following

17. The Subject Matter Experts are requested to take print out of the guidelines so as to
check and comply all the above points time to time and to avoid any question being
rejected due to the constraints set forth from the Examination perspective by the
authority.
