Environmental science is an interdisciplinary academic field that integrates physical, biological and
information sciences (including ecology, biology, physics, chemistry, plant science, zoology, mineralogy,
oceanography, limnology, soil science, geology and physical geography, and atmospheric science) to the
study of the environment, and the solution of environmental problems.

Yes, from the term itself multidisciplinary approach serve as us our guide through managing
properly what and how we are going to respond from our environment and what will be the
appropriate circumtances we can do to maintain our nature in a healthy situation that no other life will
affected in negative manners. Aside from that, without multidisciplinary approach our environment will
lead to worst and unnecessary outcomes. For me, Multidisciplinary approach serves as the heart of
environmental science which without of it, environment will probably nothing and useless and also
possibly it will lead to some incidents that every living things will affected worstly and if it happen it will
remains unauthentic.

1. Environment has a very broad scope that includes almost everything present outside of the organism.
The environment occupies the center of the study of both ecology and environmental science. If a crime
is committed in your neighborhood, will this be included in the study of environmental science?
Yes, it must be included in the study of environmental science, because the main purpose of
having the study of environmental science is to how we are going to respond a certain problems of our
environment and how and what are the solutions we are going to provide for it becomes place in a
authentic and helpful ways. For instance, there are people who are dealing with throwing garbage
anywhere which we all know what will the possible or negative effect for that if it will stays like that. It
can cause global warming, water pollution, air pollution and etc. It is a crime which punishable under the
law of R.A 9003 otherwise known as the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000 and it must
included in the study of environmental science which the intentions for this is to have respond for all
included things in environment and how we will maintain and solve every problems that can affect for it.

2. Take the issue of pollution of a river. Enumerate at least four social and natural sciences from which
information can be drawn in discussing the issue.Chemical wastes products from industrial processes
are sometimes accidentally discharged into rivers so called pollution of a river (cyanide, zinc, lead,
copper, cadmium and mercury). These substances may enter the water in such high concentrations that
aquatic fishes are killed immediately.

Atmospheric science is the study of the dynamics and chemistry of the layers of gas that
surround the Earth, other planets and moons. This encompasses the interactions between various parts
of the atmosphere as well as interactions with the oceans and freshwater systems, the biosphere and
human activities. Both Atmospheric and environmental science are connected which atmospheric deals
with the climate which is the study of weather therefore this field of science strives to predict both
short-term weather patterns and long-term climate processes. For instance, we are experiencing a
global warming or a climate change that kind of phenomenon is the product of atmospheric science
which connected to environmental science. Meteorology is the science dealing with the atmosphere
and its phenomena, including both weather and climate. This field of science is connected to
environmental science for instance, there are typhoons coming in the philippines which this field is
responsible for it by studying those causes of that certain typhoons. Geoscience, dealing with the
physical and chemical constitution of Earth and its atmosphere, it studies the processes that form and
shape earth’s surface and natural resources we use.
