Module 1: Introduction to
Entrepreneurship
Individual Activity/Seatwork
Instructions:

Answer the questions provided below. Indicate your name and section as file name.

1. Name an entrepreneur you admired the most, and why?

- One of the most successful entrepreneurs that I admire the most is Walt Disney. Walt
Disney was on the verge of becoming a cultural juggernaut in the 1920s. Disney
began producing his own animated shorts in a studio garage after working as a skilled
animator for an advertising business. In 1928, Disney developed Mickey Mouse, a
figure inspired by the mice that frequented his office, and made him the hero of
"Steamboat Willie." 3 Disney was able to establish a cartoon factory with teams of
animators, composers, and painters thanks to the economic success of Mickey
Mouse. Disney transformed the mouse into amusement parks, feature-length
animated films, and a retail boom. Following his death, the business's expansion has
continued, making Disney (DIS) and his mouse the founders of the world's largest
media corporation.

2. Do you have the potential to become an entrepreneur? If so, how?

- I think I have some of the qualities of being an entrepreneur. I also believe that a
person must be able to sell anything and anything as an entrepreneur. An
entrepreneur must sell the business concept to prospective investors, the product or
service to consumers, and themselves to workers. When an entrepreneur can
communicate effectively, he or she is better able to market their ideas and tangible
items.

3. List down the business idea/s you have in mind and how you can make it happen?
- The first business I'd like to open is a bistro. In our region of La Union, I wish to open
my own restaurant. I plan to open a bistro that is a casual fine dining restaurant in an
area where people normally prefer to dine, facing a large garden, trees, and a view of
the ocean, where people can drink, have fun, and party at night. In addition, I want to
build a private resort for my family so that we may have a vacation home while
simultaneously earning money. I also want to establish a coffee shop close to my
bistro, which I can franchise so that it may expand.

4. Discuss the role of entrepreneur in economic development. Expound your answer.

- Entrepreneurship has a significant impact on the country's economic progress and
level of living. You may believe that as a startup founder or small company owner,
you are just working hard to develop your own firm and provide for yourself and your
family. However, you are doing a lot more for your local neighborhood, state, region,
and country as a whole. Entrepreneurs who establish new companies and industrial
units contribute to regional development by locating in less developed and backward
areas. Growth in these sectors and businesses leads to infrastructure upgrades such
as improved roads and train lines, airports, reliable power and water supply, schools,
hospitals, shopping malls, and other public and private services that would not
otherwise be accessible.
