COLLEGE OF EDUCATION
Course Description
This is the first experiential course, which will immerse a future teacher to actual
classroom situation and learning environment where direct observation of teaching
learning episodes that focuses on the application of educational theories learned in
content and pedagogy courses will be made. Observations on learner’s behavior,
motivation teacher’s strategies of teaching, classroom management, assessment in
learning among others shall be given emphasis. A portfolio shall be required in the
course.
Course Outcomes
1. explain and illustrate clearly, accurately, and comprehensively the basic concepts in
principles and methods of teaching, curriculum, assessment in learning, qualities and
role of a teacher.
2. identify teaching activities which support the implementation of the curriculum guide.
3. create and utilize varied assessment tools in the area of specialization including
alternative forms of assessment.
4. demonstrate knowledge and skills in varied approaches and methods of teaching.
5. analyze assessment results and use these to improve learning and teaching.
6. utilize appropriate technologies to achieve the learning outcomes
7. demonstrate skills in the use of common software for teaching and learning
concepts.
8. develop lessons that can help students appreciate the use in daily life.
