CHAPTER I

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Nowadays, a lot of people are expose to stressful environment such as works or


family problems. People use to seek a beautiful and relaxing place to unwind and enjoy.
The Ibalon Resort and Hotel is an area of blissfulness, through offering indelible
experience to its customers. This resort will be popular as its offers excellence services
and world class quality of amenities and facilities. Aside from having fantabulous rooms
in hotel, prizewinning foods in the restaurant and marvelous swimming pools, the resort
also offers obstacle course that is perfect for team building activities. There is no reason
for you to say “No” to this Ibalon Resort and Hotel.

Rationale Behind the Name

The name of the resort was inspired by the widely considered epic of Bicolano
the Ibalon, this is a story of three (3) heroes forfending Bicol from terrible monsters
and making the area a better place to live. Hearing the name Ibalon Resort and Hotel is
something that is catchy and popular. Also, it reminds us about the significance of the
epic to the Bicolanos.

Location

Ibalon Resort and Hotel will be located at Padlos, Libmanan Camarines Sur near
the Bulalacao hills. This place is enthralling because of the alluring sceneries that can be
seen at the top of the hills giving you the bird’s-eye-view of the entire municipality of
Libmanan and some part of San Miguel bay at Cabusao, Camarines Sur. The place is
very accessible through railway or highway. There will be concrete constructed ways
leading you directly to Ibalon Resort and Hotel. This place is a perfect choice for nature
lover, thus, giving you fresh air, and a great ambiance for relaxation and revitalization.
Owners and Legal structure

The Ibalon Resort and Hotel is owned by a group of successful individuals. This
is a partnership composed primarily by the five persons who also became the pioneer of
this kind of business in Libmanan. The pioneers are the owners of Ibalon Resort and
Hotel that composed its organizational structure.

 Angela Joy Lurcha

She is 28 years old, living at Bagumbayan, Libmanan, Camarines Sur. She is one
of the Board of Directors. She graduated at Polytechnic University of the Philippines
located at Sta. Mesa Quezon City, Philippines with the course of Bachelor of Science in
Accountancy. She is now Certified Public Accountant and working as Accountant and
Analyst at San Miguel Food Corporation.

 Nonoy Joseph Bordeos

He graduated at Bicol University that is located at Daraga, Albay with the course
of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy. He is now a Certified Public Accountant working
as an Economist in the Department of Trade and Industry. He is at his last year of
becoming a neurosurgeon. He is 27 years old, living at Concepcion, Libmanan,
Camarines Sur. He is one of the Board of Directors.

 Rhia Gata

This young woman is the bread winner of her family, she is currently living at
Bagamelon, Libmanan, Camarines Sur. She is the VP for administration. She graduated
at University of Nueva Caceres located at Jaime Hernandez Avenue, Naga City with the
course of Financial Management. Presently, she is working as Assistant manager for
finance at Vista Mall Naga located at Maharlika Highway, Del Rosario, Naga City. She is
also a Chef at Chef Doy’s Gourmet Restaurant in Magsaysay Avenue, Naga City.

 Princess Catuburan

This lady is exceptional as she knows how to manage everything in her life. She
is the President of this resort. She is 28 years old living at Ibid, Libmanan, Camarines
Sur. She is working at the Municipal Hall to promote tourist spots of Libmanan,
Camarines Sur. She graduated at Ateneo de Naga University, located at Ateneo avenue,
Naga City with the course of Tourism.

 Maria Kathleen Girao

She is 27 years old, living at Palangon, Libmanan, Camarines Sur. She is the Vice
President for Production. She graduated at Naga College Foundation located at
Magsaysay avenue, Naga City with the course of Business Management. She has her
own business now, the Maria’s Restaurant at Libod#1 Libmanan, Camarines Sur.

 Vanessa Sto. Domingo

This woman is now working as Accounting Clerk at Pure gold located at General
Luna St. Abella Naga city. She is 27 years old, living at Taban, Libmanan, Camarines
Sur. She is the Vice President for Financing. She graduated at Bicol University located at
Daraga, Albay with the course of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy.
Objectives

The purpose of the Ibalon Resort and Hotel are the following: (1) To make its
customer comfortable and enjoy their memorable experience through offering different
activities and allowing them to use variety of amenities. (2) This is not only focus on
customer transaction to acquire profit, but also to promote the culture of Libmaneños
and to create employment for the people in the community, so that owners are not only
the one who develop to success but also the people or organizations that surround the
resort.

Mission Statement

The Ibalon Resort and Hotel is committed to provide employment opportunities


economic development through tourism and destination family resort recreation. It is
the goal of the business to take care and respect the environment. Ibalon Resort and
Hotel as a unique business that aims for fulfilling their promise where guests become
friends.

Vision Statement

Our vision is to established the Ibalon Resort and Hotel as a prestigious and
globally recognized resort. We are creating an everlasting dream holiday in harmony
with nature and an experience of traditional Filipino hospitality that is extraordinary and
memorable, we aspire to be acknowledge regionally and accepted as the most
efficiently manage hospitality groups wherein staff at both managerial and services
consistently strive to deliver the highest of service standards at all times and under all
circumstances.
CHAPTER II

ALL ABOUT THE STAFF

The staff are essential as they play a vital role in keeping and safeguarding the
integrity of the resort. Staffs are imperative because primarily, they are the one who is
responsible for giving appropriate assistance to any customers, turning them from
guests to friends. Without the staffs the business will not run decorously and often,
instead of having net profit the result of the business operation is net loss.

Nature of Work of Employees

Accounting Manager. The accounting manager oversee the performance of


accounting department. He is responsible for the financial management and
interpretation of financial data from different section of business such as those from
front desk office, food and beverages, maintenance, and security. He reports the
collected and analyzed data to the board of directors.

Accountant Analyst. He/she is responsible for accurately maintaining of proper


accounts in a correct manner. The primary duties are: Streamlining and maintaining
both normal and complex accounts, to work with excel books sheets, analyze and
interpret data and deliver complex reports on request from the Board of Directors on
various criteria, also, analyze, monitor all the transactions and prepare financial reports
for the annual budget of the resort. And lastly, they create roles and accounting
procedures which comply with the state laws for the resort and also aim at reducing the
cost for the business

Accountant Clerks. The accountant clerks perform almost similar to cashier they
focus on the money - income and expenses of the business, such as those from front
desk, food and beverages, maintenance and security area. They keep a track record of
the transactions and prepare a monthly report to account analyst to verify and audit.
Front Desk Manager. The front desk is the area where customer form their first
and last impression of the resort. This person is accountable for decisions and actions at
the front office, the place where guests first come into contact the resort and staff –
runs smoothly and effectively. The manager does managing and training the front office
staff, ensuring the front desk provides a professional and friendly service for guest,
arranging staff scheduling, acting as liaison between Vice President for Administrative
and staff, resolves guest problems quickly, efficiently, and courteously, and maintain an
organized and comprehensive filling system of log book.

Receptionist. They are responsible for checking guests in and out, giving
information about rates and the kinds of services that Ibalon Resort and Hotel provides,
and assigning guests to rooms. Receptionist make a good impression and ensure that
guests' needs are being met, because they have the most contact with the public.

Registrar. The registrar is accountable for listing customers who enter and exit at
the Ibalon resort and Hotel. This person communicates the list to the front desk
manager. The primary responsibility of this is to keep records about the customers.

Maintenance Manager. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the overall


maintenance of the Ibalon Resort and Hotel. He/she oversee all aspects of the
maintenance process, from installations and upkeep to inspections and repair, often
assuming a hands on role in one or more stages of the process. The primary
responsibilities are: developing and following a maintenance plan, assigning duties and
work orders, train and evaluating staff, performing maintenance operations and
coordinating with others.

Ground Men. These are the people who monitor and check the facilities of the
Ibalon Resort and Hotel especially those things that are usually use by customers. They
monitored essential equipment every day, and once they see something wrong they will
immediately report it to the maintenance manager. They can also perform repairing if
repair men need more personnel.
Repair Men. The repair men perform several procedures such as repairing tube in
comfort room, repairing electrical wirings, certain equipment utilize by the customers
such as zip line, bikes, and motors. They can repair anything as long as the things is
belonging to the Ibalon Resort and Hotel.

Foods and Beverages Manager. He/she supervise the operation and handling of
all food and beverage outlets for gallery area. They monitor and ensure fulfillment of
company specified projects and maintain regulatory board public health department for
better output. They also develop and ensure proper surveillance of food and beverages
supply when using subsidiary wings. He/she administer all food and beverages facilities
and ensure optimal cleanliness and safety procedures in efficient working. Preparing
weekly work schedule as per hotel requirement in assistant with restaurant managers is
also his responsibility. They also analyze and utilizes various management tools to
update expenses and fix bi-weekly wages for food and beverages department.

Assistant Manager. Assistant Manager of Food and Beverages find employment


with restaurants, cafeterias and kitchens of all types from casual eateries to fine dining
establishments. Assistant Manager assign work task to restaurant and kitchen staff.
He/she is also engage with management logistics with schedule, payroll and staff
training duties. Monitor and document staff attendance communicating with the food
and beverages manager, regarding which staff members are no meeting attendance
regular. Check food and beverages in order to verify they are prepared and served
within company standards. Greet customers and check that they are enjoying their
experience.

Waiter/Waitress. They provide excellent service to ensure satisfaction by taking


customers order and delivering foods and beverages. They are making menu
recommendations, answering questions and sharing additional questions or sharing
additional information with restaurant patrons. Waiter or waitress greet and serve
customers, providing detailed information on menus, they are ready for multi-tasking
activity. They prepare the tables by setting up linens, silverware and glasses. They are
also responsible for washing dishes and buying necessary recipes if ever.
Bartenders. Prepare primarily their responsibility is to prepare alcoholic drinks for
patron of the Ibalon Resort and Hotel. Alcoholic drinks are made up of many
combinations of ingredients, and each drink maybe made in several ways. The
bartenders main job is to know the standard drink recipes and be able to mix them
quickly and accurately. Bartenders also check the identification of customer seated to
ensure that they meet the minimum drinking age.

Security Supervisor. Security Supervisor monitor his staff by patrolling with them
by auto or on foot. The supervisor is also responsible for monitoring he electronic
surveillance equipment used on the premises. Each day the supervisor assigns areas for
his officers to patrol and present a list of potential problems. His officers should be on
the lookout for. If someone is caught trespassing or committing another crime, the
supervisor over sees the transfer of the accuse person to the custody of local law
enforcement personnel. The supervisor works with staff to develop safety plans for the
buildings he monitors. He leads periodic safety drills for employees and patrons in the
business in the Ibalon Resort and Hotel.

Lifeguards. Are trained in water safety. They know how to initiate a rescue and
remove a distressed swimmer from the water. They also know first aid and are able to
give artificial respiration if necessary. In an effort to ensure swimmers safety, life
guards watch for situations that could lead to accidents. They do not allow rough lay or
dangerous objects in the water or the surrounding area. Poolside lifeguards may
perform other duties such as cleaning the pool and the pool area, and sometimes are
responsible for putting chlorine and other chemicals in to the water. In some pools
these task is performed by the pool operator. Many lifeguards also give swimming
lessons.

Security Staff. These are the person who secure the surroundings of the Ibalon
Resort and Hotel. Their primary roles are: assessing at the front desk area, guarding at
the gate, monitoring continuously the guest and their belongings.

The Ibalon Resort and Hotel will be the leading resort and hotel in the entire
Libmanan, Camarines Sur as this offers consummate and unforgettable experience to its
customers during their vacation through its glorious physical appearance, accessible
location, giving a sumptuous food, showing creative architecture, offering activities that
will make the customers enjoy surely. This is the first and biggest resort and hotel in
Libmanan, Camarines Sur. This is open for reservations for any kind of events such as
parties, birthdays, debut celebration, weddings and many more. It also accommodates
camping for students and team building water based activities for group of people. The
best thing that make this business unique is majority of the employees such as those
from security department, foods and beverages department and maintenance
department are from the different barangays near the Ibalon Resort and Hotel.

Swimming Pools

Rhia’s Pool

This swimming pool is 6 feet deep with the measurement of 169 square meters.
This pool can take not greater than 40 persons.
Kathleen’s Pool

This swimming pool is 5 feet deep, its area is 182 square meters. The maximum
capacity is only 45 persons.

Princess’ Pool

This swimming people is 4 feet deep, it has its measurement 225 square meters,
enough for having at least 50 individuals.
Joy’s Pool
This swimming pool is only 3 feet, customized for kids. It is measured 144
square meters. It can accommodate 35 kids.

Vanz’ Round Pool


This round pool is perfect for group of friends who want to spend time together.
It is only fit for 5-6 persons with 3 feet deep.
Nonoy’s Pool Game

This swimming pool is for the purpose of team building ware-based activities.
The area of this pool is 450 square meters, 15 meters width and 30 meters length. This
is only 4 feet deep.

Ibalon Restaurant
This is the Ibalon Restaurant. This can accommodate persons not higher than
60. It has 10 tables and each table has its 6 chairs. This open at 6 am to 10 pm only.
Handiong Bar
This is the Handiong Bar. This offers alcoholic beverages and snacks as well. It is
not only for men but also for women for 18 years old and above.

Ibalon’s Room
This is the room at the hotel. It is air conditioned having its own comfort room
and television. It can be customized depends on the agreement of receptionist.

Entrance Fee

If you can able to reach Ibalon Resort and Hotel don’t hesitate to come in,
because it’s very affordable. The entrance for the resort is just ₱200.00 per person, it is
just good for day time, but if you’re going to stay at the resort overnight there will be
additional payment, for almost 50% of the original price which is equal to ₱300.00.
