Unit 5: SAP S/4HANA Security and System Operations

The trial can be set up quickly as your personal instance with administrative rights with two
deployment options:
● Hosted in the cloud by an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) provider
- Trial is free for 30 days, but there will be a hosting charge from the third party IaaS
provider. Providers include: Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and Amazon Web
Services. Average cost is 3-4 USD per system uptime hour.
- Time estimate to deploy: 1-2 hours
● On your own on premise hardware
- You will order a blue-ray disc from SAP and install on your own server.
- Your on premise hardware must have a supported Linux release installed.
- Time estimate: approximately 2-3 days

Note:
The installation of an appliance differs from a "regular" SAP installation, so
we recommend having an experienced SAP partner or SAP consulting
deploy the system. If customers choose to install the appliance on their
own, you will receive support from SAP. Additional information can be found

Enterprise Management Layer for SAP S/4HANA Cloud, extended edition

The SAP S/4HANA Cloud, extended edition solution subscription includes a system with a
pre-defined scope and pre-activated SAP Best Practices that can be used out-of-the-box. This
solution is called the Enterprise Management Layer (EML), and supports the implementation
of the SAP S/4HANA Cloud, extended edition solution by enabling customer to execute
business processes based on SAP Best Practices with either a multi-country or single-country
scope. Both editions cover all major end-to-end business processes.
The multi-country or single-country EML is included in the SAP S/4HANA Cloud, extended
edition subscription for customers; it is most beneficial for exploring the system and
evaluating business processes during Fit-to-Standard workshops to accelerate the
implementation. However, we are also providing a partner-specific free trial of the EML that
enables partners to provision the content, evaluate scope items, master data, and
configurations in the system. It can also be used to develop and co-innovate new partner
