Proposal

Rationale
Last year, I most enjoyed creating my music video to Thriller Will Roll as it gave me the
chance to be creative, using costume and different locations for my production. This year, as
I am creating something for an entirely different target audience, I have decided to push
myself and choose what I felt would be the most challenging for me. The target audience of
5-12-year olds is a different concept for me, as it will have to be more simplistic.

Project Concept
I believe that my short film will really test me as a creator, as I need to create something
that is not targeted at my demographic. Similarly, my stop motion will be a time-consuming
process, that will test patience. I will not be working with people in either of my
productions, choosing animals to be the main focus of my short film, which will be
challenging.

By choosing the target audience of 5-12-year olds, I already have previous knowledge of
what I would have enjoyed watching at this age. However, I cannot use dialogue in my
production which will require me to keep the overall theme simple. To create this, I would
not need any new skills, I will only get the opportunity to develop existing ones.

On the other hand, the Stop Motion will require lots of time and patience to create. As I
have to use inanimate objects and be very careful with how little or much I move them. Last
time I created a Stop Motion, I found this a difficult production and would like to revisit this
and challenge myself.

Evaluation
I will continually evaluate my work, both weekly and at the end of each project. This will
predominately be in the form of weekly blogs. These will allow me to discuss my idea
generation and how they progress over time. I will edit these weekly blogs at the end of
each day, so any problems or new ideas will be fresh in my head. When I am filming my
productions, I will create a Behind the Scenes video, which will allow me to showcase and
evaluate what I have created so far.
