1 SCOPE

Vendor shall furnish complete and operational Bag Unloaders complete with all
standard equipment and necessary accessories, but specifically exclude work
listed in Section 2. All items are part of the Toromocho Project, property of
Minera Chinalco Peru S.A., located in central Peru in the Morococha Mining
District, Yauli Province, Junin Department. The life of the mine and all equipment
is expected to be 50 years.

Vendor shall furnish drawings, data and descriptive information in the detail and
quantity required by this specification and the Vendor Document Requirement
Schedule (VDRS) and Appendix M, Installation, Operation and Maintenance
Manuals.

1.1 SCOPE OF SUPPLY 2


The Vendor’s scope of supply shall include, but is not limited to items in
the following list:

1.2 ALTERNATE QUOTATIONS

Alternate quotations will be considered in the event the Vendor is not in


agreement with any portion of this specification. However, Vendor must
submit a basic quotation completely in accordance with all terms and
conditions set forth herein. Alternates will be considered only as separate
items and must be submitted in the same form called for herein.

3 CODES AND STANDARDS

Design shall comply with all applicable standards and codes stated in this and
attached specifications (see Appendix A), MSHA (Mine Safety and Health
Administration) standards, OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health
Administration) standards], and all local laws, ordinances and regulations..

In the event of difference between codes and/or standards, the most stringent
code or specific code shall apply. Whenever reference is made in an Equipment
Specification to a specific code or standard, it shall be understood that the latest
edition of such reference, as of the date of proposal, shall govern.

4 OPERATING AND DESIGN CONDITIONS

Site data and general engineering requirements are specified in Appendix A.

Operating and design conditions and requirements are specified in the Data
Sheet A, “Operating and Design Conditions.”

Vendor shall pay particular attention to the elevation of the site, which is 4540 to
5000 meters above mean sea level. All equipment shall be designed to meet the
specified capacities at this elevation.

5 EQUIPMENT DESCRIPTION

5.1 GENERAL

The equipment shall be new and of manufacturer’s standard size and


heavy-duty design suitable for the conditions specified.

Each system shall be furnished as a complete operating package,


commencing with a bulk bag discharger with electric hoist/trolley to lift
and dump bulk bags of dry reagent into the screw feeder feed hopper
(including any necessary dust control vent connections) and terminating
at the screw feeder discharge flange. Vendor shall base the electric hoist
lift on the specified bulk bag discharger base elevation above the access
aisle floor level (i.e. where the bags will be set down by the forklift).

Vendor shall specify the different types, volumes and weight capacities of
bulk bags that can be handled by the proposed equipment.

Where practical, Vendor shall offer identical equipment for all specified
services. Vendor shall clearly identify any differences between
equipment proposed for various services.

5.2 MATERIALS OF CONSTRUCTION

All materials of construction for this equipment, components and


accessories shall be new and of a type and grade suitable for the duty
and requirements indicated in this document. All surfaces in contact with
Magnesium and Aluminum Sulfate material shall be minimum 316L
stainless steel or approved equal.

There shall be no substitution of materials without prior written approval


from Aker Solutions.

5.3 BAG UNLOADERS

Bulk bag discharger shall be provided complete with electric hoist/trolley


(pendant operator), manually initiated controls, dust control provisions,
manual actuated discharge gate, bag opening provisions, bag
massaging/vibrating provisions, etc. as required. Refer to Section 1 for
detailed scope of supply.

Vendor shall fully describe all recommended bulk bag discharger features
in proposal.

Bag opening provisions shall include a hopper with hinged access door to
enable the operator to untie the bag discharge spout with the bag fully
supported. A dust control vent connection shall be provided opposite the
operator access door to draw all airborne dust away from the operator’s
face. A manual discharge gate shall be provided for flow control and “on-
off” control at the open bag outlet. This discharge valve/gate is not
required to completely pinch off the bag spout for removal of partially
unloaded bags.

All hoists and trolleys shall be designed and manufactured in accordance


with ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) standard B30.16
(Overhead Hoists – Underhung).

The electric hoists and trolleys shall be designed and manufactured in


accordance with ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers)
standard HST-1 (Performance Standard for Electric Chain Hoists).

5.4 SCREW FEEDERS

The screw feeders shall be designed and fabricated using CEMA 300
(Screw Conveyors, Dimensional Standards), ANSI/CEMA 350 (Screw
Conveyors for Bulk Materials) standards. Screw Feeder components
shall be designed for heavy service, group 2D minimum and suitable for
handling the specified material.

Screw Feeder design capacity shall be based on 45 percent loading of


trough cross-sectional area for non-abrasive material, 30 percent for
moderately abrasive material and 15 percent for highly abrasive material.
The latter requires hard-surfacing or abrasion resistant alloys for flights
and troughs.

Screw Feeder structural design shall be based on 100 percent loading of


trough cross-sectional area.

All drive components shall be sized for the starting and running the screw
feeders under the trough loading conditions described in attached Data
Sheets A, Operating and Design Conditions.

5.4.1 Materials of construction

Material of construction for screw feeders shall be as per Section


1.1.

5.4.2 Screw Flights and Shaft

Modifications of the basic helical screw shall be used to


supplement conveying with other desired treatment of the load in
transit, e.g.: tapering flights for friable lumpy material or to draw
material uniformly from the entire length of the hopper opening,
long pitch flights for rapid conveying of free flowing material, or
double-flight short-pitch screws to deter flushing of very fluid
material.

The screw shaft shall be sized to prevent sagging against the


casing. Clearance between screw flight and trough shall be 12.7
mm (0.5 inch) or less, and the screw flight deflection due to the
weight of the pipe shaft and flights shall be limited to 6.35 mm
(0.25 inch). Total runout of the shaft at the bearing shall be
maximum 1.6 mm (1/16 inch).

5.4.3 Screw Feeder Shaft Bearings

End bearings shall be located outboard, pedestal mounted and of


the heavy duty double roller, dust-tight pillow block type with
taconite type seals. Minimum L-10 life rating of bearings shall be
60,000 hours at the screw conveyor design capacity and speed.
End thrust bearing shall be located at the discharge end so that
the rotating member will be in tension.

All anti-friction bearings shall have provisions for grease


lubrication. Where access is limited, grease lines shall be
extended to a location where they are to be grouped for ease of
regreasing.

Wherever possible, intermediate bearings should be avoided.

5.4.4 Screw Trough, End Plates, Covers and Support Saddles

Trough end plates shall be provided with a split, bolted gland seal
at shaft penetration. Seals and end plate shall be located away
from inlet or outlet to prevent direct solids pressure against end
plates and seals.

Screw conveyors shall be fitted with flanged covers, hinged on


one side and held down by a quick release fastener on the other.
The covers shall be gasketed, weather-tight construction and
effectively sealed to prevent the egress of dust.

Cover design shall permit removal of cover for maintenance


without spill-out of residual material.

The feed and discharge openings shall be flanged connection.


Flanged inlet connection shall be separate from the cover sections
to facilitate inspection without removing the inlet spout. Cleanout
spouts with blank cover plates shall be provided on 7,500 to 9,000
mm (25 to 30 foot) spacing, unless otherwise indicated on
drawings. Cleanout cover plates shall be flush with the internal
casing of the conveyor to minimize residual material spill-out on
opening an emptied conveyor.

Standard trough support saddles shall be provided as required for


supporting and aligning the screw conveyors on top of the steel
structure.

5.5 DRIVE COMPONENTS

V-belt drive (if applicable) shall be furnished by the Vendor, complete with
belts, guard, sheaves and taper-lock sheave hubs as selected and
recommended by the Vendor for the specified service (see Appendix A).

If drive is direct, a flexible coupling shall be installed and suitably


protected to avoid damage to exposed parts during transit, storage and
field assembly.

5.6 ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS AND MOTORS

Electrical design, components and accessories shall be in compliance


with the requirements of Appendix A and Aker Solutions specification
000-GD-E-010, Package Equipment – Electrical.

All motors for the Toromocho Project will be purchased from a single
motor manufacturer, WEG. Selected equipment suppliers will be directed
to purchase their motors from WEG. All motors shall be specified to
develop their power rate according to mechanical requirements and WEG
will design and de-rate the motors accordingly to work at the site
conditions.

Equipment vendors shall use the pricing agreement to establish individual


motor prices.

Motors shall be in accordance with Aker Solutions Electrical Specification


000-TS-E-014; Low Voltage Motors. Equipment Vendor shall provide
completed Motor Data Sheets (one for each motor supplied) included with
000-TS-E-014, and also Motor Specification Sheet(s) 000-MS-M-035 (one
for each motor supplied) attached to this specification.

All equipment shall be shipped with the drive(s), including motor(s),


properly installed and tested.

6 INSTRUMENTATION AND CONTROLS

Equipment shall be furnished complete with all controls and instrumentation


required to control and monitor the status or condition of the equipment. All
systems requiring protection shall be provided with sensory devices to initiate
alarms and, when required, provide automatic shutdown of the system.

Instrumentation and controls furnished shall include, but not be limited to the
following:

 Manually initiated controls for bag discharger, including bag vibrator


controls (if required).
 Pushbuttons contained in a hanging pendant for control of the electric
hoist and trolley.
 Zero speed switch on screw conveyors for remote alarm and shutdown.
 Plugged chute switch. Drexel Brook Intellipoint RF is preferred.

All alarm sensors shall be fully adjustable over their full operating ranges.

In addition to the above and other Vendor's standard system controls, the
equipment shall also be provided with the following features to allow remote
control and/or monitoring by equipment provided by others.

 All controller input/output shall be isolated and shall be able to accept a


remote setpoint signal of 4-20 mA dc.
 All measured variables shall be made available as isolated 4-20 mA dc
signals with HART protocol.
 All status and alarm signals shall be made available as isolated dry
contact closures rated minimum 5 A @ 120 V ac.
 All start/stop or on/off pushbuttons or switches shall be wired in a manner
that will make incorporation of remote controls readily possible.
 All signal circuits shall be wired to Vendor supplied terminal strips to
permit field wiring by others.
 Equipment shall be suitable for 120 V ac, 60 Hz control power.

All instruments and controls, and panels shall be weatherproof, dust-tight and
corrosion resistant or shall be mounted in a NEMA 4x (IP66) enclosure or
equivalent.

Instrumentation and control systems, components and accessories shall be in


compliance with the requirements of Appendix A and Aker Solutions General
Specification 000-GD-I-011, Package Equipment – Instrumentation.

7 ASSEMBLY AND TESTING

7.1 PAINTING

All surfaces to be painted shall be thoroughly cleaned and free of all dirt,
rust, grease, weld spatter and loose mill scale, and, except for stainless
steel surfaces, shall be painted with manufacturer's standard chemical
resistant prime and finish coats according to Painting System P1, per
General Specification 000-GC-S-012.

Machined surfaces not normally painted shall be coated with a suitable


anti-corrosion compound to protect surfaces during ocean shipment and
outside storage at jobsite. The compound shall be such that it can be
easily cleaned or removed with solvent.

Vendor shall provide sufficient finish coat paint for field touch-up.

7.2 ASSEMBLY

Shop assembly shall be as specified in Appendix A. The equipment,


auxiliaries and components shall preferably be furnished as fully
assembled units. Subassemblies, if required, shall be as large as
transportation and/or erection facilities will permit. Transportation
limitations are specified in Appendix T, Transport Constraints.

7.3 TESTING

Prior to preparation for shipping, the equipment shall be assembled and


tested in accordance with the manufacturer's conditions which will warrant
the equipment's performance upon proper assembly at the job site. The
Vendor shall notify the Buyer ten days in advance of the above scheduled
tests. An authorized representative of the Buyer shall have free entry to
observe all tests while they are in progress.

7.4 PREPARATION FOR SHIPMENT

When applicable, the Vendor shall adequately prepare all components for
export shipment, recognizing the requirements for inland transport,
handling, and marine transport. Transportation limitations are specified in
Appendix T, Transport Constraints.
All openings in the equipment shall be sealed to exclude foreign matter
during shipment. Flanges shall be provided with wooden covers bolted in
place in order to protect the flange face.

All items shall be provided with adequate lifting lugs to facilitate unloading
and handling prior to erection and shall be properly braced and supported
for handling and shipment. Lugs shall be painted yellow.

7.5 TAGGING REQUIREMENTS

Match marking shall be as specified in Appendix A. All equipment shall


have a permanent, stamped 316 stainless steel nameplate attached that
contains all pertinent identification and size information. Identification
shown shall include the Owner Purchase Order Number, Equipment
Name and Tag Number.

All instruments, whether mounted on the equipment or shipped loose,


shall have a stainless steel tag firmly attached by stainless steel wire.
Refer to General Specification 000-GD-I-011 for tag details.

8 TECHNICAL PERFORMANCE GUARANTEE REQUIREMENTS

The Vendor shall guarantee their equipment for the specified operating and
design conditions.
