Introduction - Digital Transformation

Digital transformation is about the continuum. And it is not whether that continuum will
come, but a question of when and how. In the knowledge lead digital economy, many
organizations (for-profit and not-for-profit) won’t thrive by merely altering the management
practices that led to past success. It’s about Leadership through Digital Transformation.

2. Centre for Digital Transformation and The Red Brick Summit 2021 presents –
“Digital Metamorphosis”

A global level competition inviting the brightest students to share technology solutions for
problems of international agenda. Developed under the guidance of eminent faculty
members of IIM Ahmedabad.

2.1. Digital Metamorphosis Tracks

2.1.1. Governance of Social and Economic Systems

Ease of Living involves - stability, transparency, efficiency and continuity in the


governance systems that is inclusive, sustainable and citizen centric.
Create a solution to bridge the digital divide between the rich & the poor and
make government offerings more accessible to them.

2.1.2. Health, Wellness and Fitness System

To achieve this type of overall wellness, a person must be healthy in these


interconnected dimensions of wellness: physical, emotional, intellectual,
spiritual, social, environmental, occupational, financial, and cultural. Holistic
wellness involves all these aspects of life and more.
Create a solution that can be used to access a user’s complete health profile. It
could include his past records, test reports, previous ailments and so on.

2.1.3. Consumer, E-Commerce, and Retail Tech

In today's society, with the popularization of digital platforms, the e-commerce


industry has evolved rapidly, creating a business model that consumers are
familiar with today. With the advent of e-commerce, consumption patterns have
undergone tremendous changes. E-commerce based network consumption is
surely and gradually replacing traditional consumption experience and becoming
one of the main consumption standards in human life
Create a solution to reimagine, redefine, adapt and deliver a seamless customer
experience from click-to-cash and procure-to- pay perspective.

2.1.4. Responsible Digital Platforms


Digital platforms are recognised for increasing productivity to grow their
economic value creation journey, at the same time organizations need to be clear
also about how and why they will increase social value of all those stakeholders
participating in the platform. 
Emerging Tech - Create a solution revolving around Ethical AI, Industry 4.0,
AR/VR, Immersive   Technologies, Quantum Computing, 3D Printing, 6G,
Autonomous Vehicles, Drones, etc.

3. What We Will Do during Digital Metamorphosis

Digital Metamorphosis will be a hackathon, involving programming challenges, and coding


competition. This competition is designed to encourage participants to apply their knowledge,
creativity, and coding skills towards solving a problem through a piece of software (like an
application) that addresses the solving a problem, for a business or organization.
Stage I: Problem statement and business canvas with code. Submission ends on 30th Sept
2021.
Stage II: The shortlisted teams will be presenting the idea and prototype/wireframe/code
application. Final on 9th and 10th Oct 2021.

4. Centre for Digital Transformation

The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) has partnered with Bank of America
to launch a Centre for Digital Transformation (CDT) for doing cutting-edge research on
the topic.

The Advisory Committee Members of Center for Digital Transformation are:

 Prof. Pankaj Setia, Founding Chair & Professor of Information Systems, IIM
Ahmedabad (Founding Chair);
 Catherine P. Bessant, Chief Operations and Technology Officer, Bank of America
(Co-Chair);
 Prof. Errol D’Souza, Director, IIM Ahmedabad; 
 Sumeet Chabria, Global Technology & Operations COO and Global Business
Services Executive, Bank of America; 
 Prof. Debjit Roy, Professor, IIM Ahmedabad; and 
 Prof. Ramayya Krishnan, Dean of Heinz College, Carnegie Mellon University.

5. The Red Brick Summit 2021

IIM Ahmedabad is all set to host the fifth rendition of its biggest management symposium in
its virtual avatar. Named “The Red Brick Summit” (TRBS) after the famous environs that
have come to be associated with over 50 years of academic excellence, the symposium is a
potpourri of the erstwhile Big Four of IIMA – Insight, Confluence, Amaethon and
ConneXions – that have been a mainstay of our institute's event calendar all these years.
Since its inception, TRBS has played host to numerous path-breaking ideas, engaging
dialogues and disruptive innovations.
At TRBS, we provide students with a platform to showcase their business acumen, and to
compete against the best and brightest across multiple business domains. The symposium will
feature an incredible line-up of speakers and thought leaders, along with a series of
workshops conducted by proven industry leaders.
Organized around eight diverse conclaves covering a wide spectrum of management
domains, TRBS acts as an exhaustive primer on management for one and all.
