Facebook Marketing
Facebook marketing refers to creating—and actively using—a Facebook page as a
communications channel to maintain contact with and attract customers. Facebook actively
provides for this, allowing users to create individual profiles or business pages for companies,
organizations, or any group attempting to develop a fan base for a product, service, or brand.

Introduction
Company name: Handcrafted

Vision: Empower the bored, add a little bit of colour to the otherwise greyscale life of the
people.

Mission statement: To add luxury to your homes, one at a time while sustaining the legacy
of craft.

Children's self-confidence is boosted through arts and craft activities that develop a sense of
accomplishment and pride in them. The ability for a child to construct whatever he or she
wants encourages creativity. By confronting and addressing artistic obstacles, a youngster
will learn to make proper and effective decisions.

This is not true for only children, yet it is very important to instil this in them. We at
Handcrafted, want everyone to have fun and get some colour in their boring, greyscale life.
Even during the lockdown, things have been difficult. We wish to bring out the creativity in
people and bring the world a little closer.

We are passionate about providing our customers with the best products, learning and sharing
our knowledge and inspiring others. We strive to be different in all our work – customer
service, how we work together, and the products, information and courses we offer.

No matter how we work, how to deal with others, be kind to others or buy goods, it is our
number one priority to maintain ethics in all aspects of our business.

Creating Facebook Page
As we go on creating the page, we have to fill some basic information like page name,
category etc. I named the page “Handcrafted” which is an art and craft shop in Ahmedabad.

Its main job and goal is

In the cover photo, I have put the details of the upcoming workshop so the visitors of the
page can get to know the latest updates as soon as they open the page.

Following are some settings done for the page:

This section focuses on various


settings of the page which are
general and gives about, basic
details of the page.

Contact Details- Having proper


contact details help customers to
approach the brand easily. For this
purpose, we have put all our contact
details like Phone Number, Email address and Website. By this means the brand gets easily
accessible to its customers.

Location – Since the brand has a physical store, we have mentioned the address so that
customers can come to our location for shopping.

These settings are internal settings of the page and are important for a good business
marketing of the business or the product. For example-

1. Page Visibility – It is published. This means it is live and the people can see my business
of Facebook.

2. Visitor post – Here we have kept open setting so that any customer can approach us and we
have open platform to share anything.

3. Post and story Sharing and Messaging – We have tuned this on so that any person can
share it to others in case we post something relevant to the community.

4. Tagging – Here, since the business is small, we have kept a bit restricted tagging ability.
This will help prevent chaos on the page as well. The moderators/admins can check and then
allow tagging.

Restrictions – The page has no county or Age restricts. Anyone across the globe can access
us anytime.

For any business, it is important to keep the price range so that customer knows about the
brand and how much budget he must have while shopping inside the store.

Since, we have less expensive things, we have mentioned about the low price range in our
settings.

Timings: As a business, we have mentioned about the
working hours so that customer can look when the
store is open and can plan the visit accordingly. This
information is of vital importance as for a customer
coming at wrong time will cause dissatisfaction.

We have also mentioned the day wise timings as it


might happen that on a particular week we might open
at different timing. For a small business brand like
ours, it is important to specify the timings for better
brand value to the customers and higher fulfilment.

Creating Post
For this purpose, I decided to have an event and posted about it. In the event, it is a workshop
for making clay models and making refrigerator magnets using those models.

In the following screenshot, we can see the settings put for making the event live.

This was the post created to promote the modelling event. The image on the post shows the
event details, the date of the event, the expected output of the workshop. The main objective
of the post was to get more and more people aware about the workshop.

Here are a few metrics that a new Facebook page must focus on

Page engaged users: 35

Total reach: 40

Total impressions: 207

Total page likes: 31

Page views are the number of times a Page's profile has been viewed by people, including
people who are logged into Facebook and those who aren't. Total page views of
“Handcrafted” are 30.
Further, we can see some more data like where was our post seen in the feed, where are the
visitors located (city/country), etc. Most of our page visitors saw this in their feed.

Reach is the number of people who saw any content from your Page or about your Page,
including posts, stories, ads, social information from people who interact with your Page and
more. For the last post, the reach was 35.

Our page is well received by the small audience that we have. On an average, the posts have
received about 25 reach on average.

Creation of Ad Campaign
In this section, we will see how a small and new business like Handicrafted has created ad
promotions.

First, a few basic questions were to be answered. I selected the appropriate response for the
Y/N questions.

Now, we input the location of our target audience.


Since we are based in Ahmedabad, we select the
areas in and around Ahmedabad, major cities of the
state Gujarat.

Next, we get to specify the topics of interest of
our target audiences. Handcrafted is related to
arts and crafts. So interests like art and craft,
DIY, Origami, Clay modeling, etc are added.

Now, we select the versions of the ads. It is


important as this is how the ads will look to the
audience.

After all inputs, we get to the final window before publishing the ads. Here, we can finalise
the details and make any changes that we require. We can adjust the budget, the audience
age, locations, interests.

For Handcrafted, the audience is “broad”. The main aim for us is to get more visiblity on
Facebook, attract more customers and building a community. Having a broad audience is a
safe option for a new Faceook page.

Ideally, for a well established business, the audience for an ad should be specific and range
around 1000-50,000 people. This is recommended for the best and focussed results.

I have adjusted the per day budget for me as we
do not have a huge budget for social media
marketing. This is because we have just started
the business and the resources are constraied.

This was the detailed targeting section.

Now, we are ready to start the promotions.

Conclusion
Facebook is a vital platform for any business to market itself. In the current times of digital
and social media Facebook is one of the best option to establish our business on their
platform for wide market reach.
