Multi switch description:
Active and cascadable SAT-IF multi switch series for 3 SAT positions (12 SAT polarties + terrestrial) in versions
with 8 to 24 subseriber outpuis.
‘The TMS19xC Series is switchable between full wideband, or with a §-65Mbiz passive retun path
For use only with Universal Quattro type LNC/LNBs. Colour coded inputs,
Connects to 8 to 24 individual subscriber satelite receivers, The satelite receiver provides its own individual DC
;utching voltage to switch polarty and position on every subscriber output (13/18 VOC, 0/22 kHz and DiSEqC),
‘No further DC power supply is raquired for switch to function,
E-type connector available for external DC power supply input (to source LNBs and Line AMPs via main trunk)
Suitable for analogue and digital reception,
‘The products are in conformity with the required safety standards which are fixed in the EU directive regarding
the electromagnetic compatibilty (89/336/EEC-EMC Directive) and the Low Voltage Directive (72/29/EEC).
During installation please observe the requirements set forth in the EU safety standards EN 60066 and 5008-1
8 well as local requirements and standards for IF and RF SMATV.- installations.
Exercise care and good practise when mounting coaxial connectors (F-connectors} on the cables to avoid short
Circuits and unnecessary emission of noise and distursance of neighbouring installations
Only perform multi switch installation jobs while mains plug ofall power supplies are disconnected
Make sure no short circuits are present on the distribution cables before applying maine power to the multi switch
instalation, Short circuits may overioad, overheat and harm power supplies and satelite recewvers atternpting to
supply an excessive amount of current
‘Check the rating labels of any power supply and make sure the local Mains Voltage you connect it to never
exceeds those ratings. Failure to observe this and act accordingly may compromise the security and safely
of the whole system and expose you and everyone attached to the installation to damage, fire and electric shor
‘A mult switch instalation should be earthed. An earth screw is available on the rnulti switch unt
The manufacturer is not responsible for damage or system failures caused by Insales ignoring the above safety
measures.
Recycling:
This product is manufactured in compliance to current EU environmental and recycling requirements and
standards (WEEE, RoHS, etc.) Please observe your local implementation and requirements when recycling.
Installation:
Mount the multi switch only indoor on a vertical and dry surface using the available screw holes and ‘feets
Make sure that no supply power is available on the connection cables yet
(Temporarly turn off satelite receivers and/or their LNC supply),
Mount suitable F-connectors on the coax cable going tothe satelite receivers and connect them individually to a
‘multi switch subscriber output (8 to 24 outputs dependent on type). Maximum cable length from svaten to
‘receiver is typically 25-30 meters depending upon cable type/quality and satelite receiver. Far longer cable runs
are possible, but be aware of DiSEqC switching problems which may vary between satellite receivers
Mount suitable F-connectors on the coax cable coming from the LNC units (or an upper cascade TMS 13xC
unit), and connect them to the correct inputs of the mul switch. Observe the correct colour coding
Double-check that correct position and polarities are connected to carract inputs. Position (A/B/C) and polarity
name and colour are visible on the mult switch unit label
Use a sultable outlet sockat in the apartment atthe satellite receiver to Separate the terestrial and satelite signals
(e.g: TOU 018, EDA 302 F). SAT connector must have DC pass,Specifications and Installation Guide TRIAX
{All outputs on the multi switch that are not used should be terminated with 75 ohm terminators.
DC supply for LNCs andlor Line Amplifir(s) can be done attaching an external power supply to any of the
TMS13xC unis. The switch itself only needs a receiver to work,
«Apply mains power to the installation power suppiy(es) only when all connections are done and there are
no shor circuits present (use a multi-meter to check and verity)
‘+ Satelite receivers can now be connected and turned on, System is ready for use
+ To avoid disturbances and poor picture quality, please observe the output levels at the subscriber outlet and
planfdesign your installation accordingly
