1.0 Project Overview


Implementing Next Bus Information Systems for Toronto Transit Commission

The City of Toronto commerce the project on providing Public Transit information systems project steered
by Toronto Transit Commission and in alliance with Municipal government of Toronto. The project will
provide better information services to commuters for easy access on transit details. Additionally, it will
offer them resources about current affairs and weather forecast.

1. Purpose of the project

o Problem the project will address / solve:


•This project resolves the bus schedules problems faced by commuters on daily basis
and hence drop in customers grievances
•Providing news and weather forecast facilities to commuter’s adding 99% customer
satisfaction

o Rationale for the proposed solution:


•Increase in convince and reliability by 100% showing accurate information on transit
•Citizens will be updated by the display information systems with ongoing city bulletin
•The customers can utilized and manage their time as per the systems

2. The information system displays will provide accurate information on transit which means less
complaints from commuters. Adding city news as additional services can inspire the commuter’s
satisfaction level. Municipal government will benefit from advertisement as it will increase
government revenue and also to local markets who can publish their business advertisement.
More occupation for technician’s labor can help people with employment which help city of
Toronto to grow economically.

2.0 Project Objectives

1. Construct the outline for installing next information systems in TTC

2. Forming a strategy to gather information on Transit systems

3. Executing an experimental setup at few locations of TTC

4. Assessment of the preliminary and elimination of the technical errors

5. Implementing the project design for all location at City of Toronto
