about the relationship of the government and the people affected by poverty or in layman’s

term, the life of the people with power and prosperity and the life living in poverty. He made
this song to open the eyes of government officials about what is happening outside the
mansion. What is happening to ordinary people while they sit happily on their soft sofa and
enjoying their glass of wine. Government officials living their happy lives for the fullest while
the community is suffering from hunger and poverty. This song’s purpose was to tell the
reality that is happening to our fellow Filipinos that struggles to survive everyday since they do
not have the capacity to support the needs of their family. As Gloc 9 hopes, this song will bring
a change to the society.

Upuan-

The title “Upuan“ have a connotative meaning, it refers to the executive chair either local or
national. The song talks about the comfortable life by the one in the highest position or let’s
says the one who “seated” in Malacañang. The rich became richer and the poor became
poorer. Instead people that are in the position will lead us to the right way, they just sit and did
nothing to make our society more harmonious, they never dare to stand up and watch and
think of the people around them. The only thing that the song wanted to tell is that they (the
politicians) must to look out the situation of the poor for them to realize the things that
they’ve done only for themselves. The poor cries for the attention, good governance and good
life.

as an open message for the people in power or the government.

“Kayo po na naka upo, Subukan nyo namang tumayo at baka matanaw, at baka matanaw
ninyo ang tunay na kalagayan ko”

- this was the first statement in the song and it actually means calling for help. Calling for
the attention of the government that we are suffering and we need help. POVERTY
should be annihilated for all of us to live a better life. Every lyrics have its feels and I
couldnt agree more to the fame and acknowledgement that Gloc 9 receives because I
know that he deserves it.

“Alam nyo bang pantakal ng bigas namin ay di puno. Ang dingding ng bahay namin ay
pinagtagpi-tagping yero.”

- But as the rich politicians get even reacher, the condition of the poor society is getting
worse. Most of them can not even eat three times a day and they consider themselves
lucky if the eat rice everyday. They vote those politicians with a hope that those
bastards will do their promise- to make their life better. Every election there is a new
agenda, a promise that is meant to be broken because when they got the position,
those promise are forgotten.

“Alam nyo bang pantakal ng bigas namin ay di puno. Ang dingding ng bahay namin ay
pinagtagpi-tagping yero.”---- this line po,tells us that as the rich politicians get even reacher,,the
condition of the poor society is getting worse. in this upcoming election po, we vote for these
politicians for a hope na they make our country better pero pag "nakaupo" na po sila or when
they got their position already, those promises are forgotten

Conclusion: Gloc-9 wrote this song as a calling for those who have the power. The power to
turn the lives of the other people into better. Those persons behind those high walls, living in a
mansion, riding in a convoy. Those persons who have the position, a position which were given
by the people who gave their trust. Being trusted is a privileged but they do not see the essence
of being a leader- to lead the country and to improve the life of its people.
