SSA HOLDS FIRST CCT ART EXHIBIT

(Jeff Jeremiah C. Perea)

The School of Sciences and Arts showcased
artworks produced by CCT second year
students last December 13, 2019. This was a
part of the students’ final practical
examination under the subject, Art
Appreciation (HUMA1a) facilitated by Mr.
Jeff Jeremiah Perea, Mr. Roman Jacinto III,
and Mr. Bernardo Alcantara Jr.
Paintings both on canvass and illustration
board, sculptures of wood and stone, shoe-art,
and metal art all filled the CCT-ANT Hall as
students, teachers, and teacher-judges lined up
to view and take photos. Second year students from BSOA, BSBA, BSIT and BSE all
participated in the event, garnering a total of 934 pieces of presented artworks. One important
criterion for judging the artworks is the integration of an advocacy which became the basis for
choosing the winners. Teacher-judges were composed of Mr. Jay-ar Baybay (Psychology), Mr.
Venancio Villamayor (History), and Ms. Ria Villamayor
(Language).
The exhibit was then followed by a seminar on the value of
arts with Mr. Philip Y. Lejano of Cavite State University
Main Campus as guest speaker who discussed about the
difference aspects of beauty in arts. Moreover, he also tackled
the various forms and approaches to art. The seminar was
attended by both students and SSA teachers.
Sir Roman Jacinto, one of the teachers-in-charge stated that “since
