Born Ikuforiji Abdulrahman Olaitan and raised in

Lagos, Oxlade studied History & International Relations
at Lagos State University.
 He started his musical
journey in the choir. And put out his first sing on
soundcloud in 2017. He caught the attention of many
the following year after he released his first official
single ‘Shugar’ which instantly caught the ears of music
fans across the nation.

Oxlade went on to release one of the biggest songs of the

decade “Away” which catapulted him to major stardom
across the world getting him featured on many top
magazines and press around the world. The song was
named one of the “Top 50 songs of the year 2020” by
rolling stone. Which made him the only Nigeria artist to be
on that list. He has since then been one of the major faces
of afrobeats for the new generation and is dedicated to
spreading the gospel of afrobeats.

In 2020 Oxlade was one of the faces of “Art X Lagos” a

premier fashion show in west Africa that aims at
spreading the beauty of the African culture. Oxlade has
also been forward in human rights activism, running
campaigns for the better treatment of his fellow citizens
from the Nigerian Government.
With the aim of becoming one of the biggest music
exports from Nigeria with more new music, visuals and
explosive live performances, it is evident Oxlade is well
on his way to achieving all he sets out to.
