HISTORY

In the history, there are exhibited records that the district has followed its beginning, when the ministers crossed the stream from Jesus dela Peña, for a
spot to manufacture another gathering. As demonstrated by a legend, the district got its name when people saw a huge cross skimming down the Marikina River.
Various people dove into the water to get it shorewards, yet failed to do in that capacity. Mostly, by then decided to gather a place of supplication to honor the
clandestine cross. From the beginning, the cross stayed singular, yet later the image of Sta. Elena appeared contiguous and it is where its name was given. The
serene life in the area was periodically upset by minor characteristic disasters, for example, the seismic tremor in 1825 and 1880 and the fire of 1887 which
almost gutted down the place of Captain Venciong. Be that as it may, individuals considered the bombarding of the joined fighters of the American freedom
Forces and the Philippine Commonwealth troops on February 10, 1945 as the most noticeably awful misfortune in Sta. Elena's set of experiences and remains as
part of history. In the long run, there are acclaimed individuals in Sta Elena in spite of the way that Marikina is the shoe capital of the nation due to its inheritance,
the locale started to be the conspicuous town focal point of the city with various heritage sites . Sta. Elena, being probably the well known settlement is home to
renowned tourist spots and social destinations of Marikina.

that the balance between government agencies, corporate, commercial, education, residential and recreational is important in a city district for them to have easy
access, short trips and safety. Moreover, this study shows that some cities or districts in the country are developing poorly or slowly. From the beginning, people
are excited to build their own houses or business for their needs and wants. Increasing numbers of structures are unstoppable until today resulting in poor open
spaces. If only the city was well designed in aspects of urban planning, then people may not have to worry about natural disasters happening like floods.
