Topic: The reason why student don’t like studying history

Title: An investigation into the reason why student don’t like studying history in
X High School

1. Rationale:

Nowadays, there are some subjects that students don't like English, chemistry,
biology and especially history. The percent of student don’t like studying increases
and this percentage will increase in the coming years.

The aim of this study is to understand the reason why the student don’t like
studying history.

2. Aim and Objectives

 The survey to discover out why history isn't well known with numerous
understudies
 Discover students' perceptions and attitudes about history

III. Methodology

This study aims at finding out the reason why the student don’t like studying
history at X high school. Therefore, two following questions will be answer as
research findings.

 What is the importance of learning history?

 What are the common reasons why students don't like history?
1. Research method

For the purposes of research, survey is used as a research method to achieve the
objectives. The qualitative survey is of phenomenological type, so it can approach
the behavior and feelings of high school students X. A survey consisting of a
predefined set of questions was given as a sample. Sample selected from 10th to
12th in high school X

2. Participants

We would like the project to be open to all students in the X high school from 10th
to 12th, a total school population of 500 students.

3. Sampling procedure

The sample group will be requested to complete an online questionnaire consisting
of approximately 10 questions which should take approximately 5 minutes to
complete. The online questionnaire includes:

+ Basic information of student (It will be kept confidential)

+ Question about behavior and feelings about subjects
+ Question about importance of history with student
+ Question about reason why student don’t like history

The participants will be requested to complete the questionnaire online in class.

And the participants will give a mini gift when they complete questionnaire
online.

4. Tool for collecting data

We choose questionnaire to collect data because some reasons. Firstly, we don’t

need too much money for this project. Moreover, we can collect information from
a large number of respondents in a short period of time. Secondly, the basic
information’s participants will be kept confidential so they can answer the question
the modest way.

5. Procedure of collecting data

We will choose the suite time for all students such as break time during subjects or
when student go to home. We will explain the reason of this survey before
delivering the questionnaires to students. We will instruct them to answer the items
depending on their case.
