I have given emotional intelligence test to assess my skills, in which I tried to give most
appropriate answers without any doubt. This emotional intelligence test has represented my
o

emotions which ultimately influence my behavior. From this test, my values and goals motivate
aC s

me to achieve objectives in future. However, during under pressure in workplace, I feel myself
vi y re

more stressful and irritated, as it generally changed my behaviors from normal which create
negative impact on my capabilities and performance. I want to create right image in front of
others and therefore I take myself seriously and in setting challenging goals with confidence.

The scores that I’ve gained from emotional intelligence test are self-awareness (6), self-

management (7), social awareness (6) and in relationship management (5). According to my
analysis, I think these scores are representing my real image and skills/ capabilities I have. The
results have been given out of 10 in which each quadrant is telling me about capabilities and
is

skills I have. It helps me to further develop myself looking for opportunities and growth in
Th

future.

I have learned from this emotional intelligence test that what type of skills and capabilities I
have, which is making me successful for future career growth and explaining how to make good
sh

decisions. My scores are telling me that I am weak in relationship management (5) and I am
strong in self-management (7). Jordan et al. (2002) investigated the relationship between
emotional intelligence and performance of Australian work teams. The results have shown that
work team with high emotional intelligence performed well than other work team with low
emotional intelligence but eventually after nine weeks, performance levels of both teams were

similar which shows that individuals with emotional intelligence are cohesive and effective
(Cartwright & Pappas, 2008). Furthermore, I have gained same score for self-awareness and
social awareness (6), which shows I am critically self-reflective and adaptatively more success-
oriented type (Global Leadership Foundation, 2004). For me the most important element here
to improve my relationship management by building bonds, teamwork and collaboration. I
could also improve myself from resolving disagreements and developing resolutions
collaboratively. From self-management perspective, I feel stress under work pressure and It is
affecting my objectives and performance which I should need to control by using time
management tools or by managing to-do checklist because I’ve gained highest score in self-
management and work under pressure is challenging for me which I need to improve.

Ultimately, I’ve experienced a successful outcome from this emotional intelligence test results
but still to improve my achievements. Now I realize that these results could help me to improve

m
my professional practice and skills efficiently. Most importantly, I have learned to use self-

er as
management skills to become more self-controlled and adaptative in any situation and by

co
managing myself for responsibilities and initiatives. As a next step I need to think about

relationship management and use my social awareness skills to develop good relations with my

seniors and coworkers. I can increase my capability and skill of self-awareness by using self-

evaluation or I can use SWOT analysis. Additionally, I have learned myself and weaknesses in me
through emotional intelligence test that helps me to grow my future career effectively. I have
gained score above than average. From workplace point of view some emotional intelligence
o

programs are quite good but some are unrealistic. So, results could be worse if it is based on
aC s

inspirational lectures or short-lived experiences (Cherniss, Goleman, Emmerling, Cowan & Adler,
vi y re

(1998). I have seen opportunities and challenges for which I have to develop strategies that
could enhance my professional skills.
