INSTRUCTIONS FOR TEACHERS: Now, have each student describe what

s/he did last week and what s/he did last vacation.

NOTE: Write this sample descriptive writing format on your board or in a

cardboard to aid students grasp the idea on how to structure a descriptive
paragraph.

Bill did many activities on the weekend. First, on Saturday, he went shopping
in the morning. Then he cleaned the house at noon and watched TV at night.
On Sunday, he went swimming in the afternoon. Next, he went out to dinner
at seven o’clock and then to a concert at nine thirty. Finally, he went to bed
very late and got up late in the morning.

Do not forget to tell students to “indent”, and to “punctuate”.

What I Did My Last Vacation

My last vacation was spent in Iquique which is in Chile. We went there with my
three friends. We stayed at a home for one week. I had incredibly good
memories. That was the third time I went to Iquique. It has amazing beach
near the house. the house was small, but it had big balcony and a restaurant
for lunch, and I ate the best hamburger in my life!! It was amazing so I
recommend it everyone.
Every day we went to beach and had lots of fun.
We went to fun fair, and we had wonderful funny time there. In
Iquique depends on you have a house to stay or have to stay at hotel but for
me, I prefer to stay at house.
