Book Review

Author: Dan Brown

Book: Da Vinci Code

The book pursues the main protagonist Robert Langdon, a Harvard University
dean of symbology. He is perturbed by the authorities in the middle of the night,
having been accused in the murder of the museum curator at the Louvre, Paris.
With the support of a police cryptographer, they embark on a quest to clear his
name and obtain the real killer.
My friends recommended a few books to me, from which Da Vinci Code was one
of them. When I started reading Da Vinci Code, I did not seem to stop, it was
really alluring and I kept reading, I finished the book in lesser than 12 hours.
The book itself is a fictional act, but Dan Brown has done a comprehensive amount
of research into the history and education of Christianity, and the sacred ‘Holy
Grail’. That said, I decided to take the book on face value as a thriller, and the
decision to listen to my friends and read it was rewarded.
However, the downside in this was that it talked too much about religion and some
of it was really unnecessary and, in my opinion, it was really redundant.
Even a decade after causing all its controversy, The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown
still captivates readers with its detailed plot full of wonderful intricacies and highly
entertaining suppositions thorough research on such topics as the Templars,
Leonardo Da Vinci, codes and ciphers.
