• Focuses on the study of MAN-
the totality of what it means to be
human.

• The field looks into man’s
physical/biological characteristics, his
social relationship and the influence of his
culture from dawn of civilization up to
present.

• Focuses on the past and how it may have
contributed to the present ways of how
people conduct their daily lives.
• Most important of human nature is survival.

• Focuses on how the human body adapts to


the different earth environments.
• Explains how the biological characteristics
of human beings affects how they lived their
lives.
LINGUISTIC
ANTHROPOLOGY
• Study how language and modes of
communication change overtime.
• Focuses on using language as means to
discover group’s manner of social interaction
and his worldview.

the subculture of a particular group.

• Culture- group of people’s way of life (behavior,
beliefs, values and symbols)

and social identity.
