Vision of the University: We envision University of Santo Tomas-Legazpi as a leading university in the region, nurturing with truth, love and gratitude the mind, heart and spirit of

Program outcomes:

Students in the discipline must exhibit the following competencies at the end of the undergraduate program. Graduates should be able to:
a. compare, contrast and classify the major concepts in the discipline

COURSE DESCRIPTION Political Science 101 is the systematic study of state and its elements. As cited by other authorities, it begins and ends with the state. It will introduce the
students to the basic political concepts and theories, philosophies, methods, and some issues of the contemporary world. The course will start with
fundamental concepts so that the students can slowly develop an understanding of politics as political scientists see it.
Upon successful completion of this course, the students will be able to:
1. Explain theories relevant to each field of political science.
2. Investigate issues in local/national/global contexts by applying appropriate theories.

 Report to class regularly. Coming to class after the bell will be considered late; coming to class 20 minutes after the bell will be considered
absent. Three tardiness will be converted to one absence.
 The maximum number of allowable absences (excused or unexcused absences) is 10 hours.
