1. Research on and give two (2) programs under Civic Welfare Training Service

(CWTS). You may choose under Health, Education, Livelihood, Pastoral or Self

Governance. Be specific with your answers and expound your thoughts by giving

examples.

National Service Training Program (NSTP) is a program intended to enhance the

urban cognizance -- (Civil consciousness) of students by fostering the value of service

and commitment for the government assistance and improvement of life of all

individuals from a designated local area. It additionally expects to fortify the students'

dynamic active participation in the program and exercises proposed to elevate the

various elements of development in accordance with the Values and Moral of the

Colegio.

- According to R.A No. 9163 Sec. 3 (a) "National Service Training Program

(NSTP)" is a program aimed at enhancing civic consciousness and defense

preparedness in the youth by developing the ethics of service and patriotism while

undergoing training in any of its three (3) program components. Its various components

are specially designed to enhance the youth's active contribution to the general welfare.

And According to R.A No. 1963 Sec. 3 (d) "Civic Welfare Training Service" refers to

programs or activities contributory to the general welfare and the betterment of life for

the members of the community or the enhancement of its facilities, especially those

devoted to improving health, education, environment, entrepreneurship, safety,

recreation and morals of the citizenry. There are several component programs under

NSTP-CWTS. Health, Education, Livelihood, Pastoral or Self Governance.

These programs also include series of plans, projects related to the designated

program. (1) Livelihood Program --- it is an ability building program for poor,

underestimated families, individuals who are part of unemployed due to lack of

experience and moving exceptionally poor families into practical vocations and produce

monetary stability. One keen example under Livelihood Program is a Skill Training,

wherein Employment Facilitation is conducted, for example TESDA -- Technical

Education and Skills Development Authority. This is allocated for individuals eligible for

18 years old and above, these are technical vocational courses – considerably short

courses. This aims to provide appropriate training throughout the enlistment. This also

aims to have each individual to gain experience through knowledge, and practical. (2)

Health Program – it is a voluntary program which aims to attain a maximum utilization of

blood through a functional and rational use, may it be through the use of blood

transfusion, therapy or surgery. One good example of this kind of activity under this

program is the University of the Philippines – Diliman Under the theme “Para

Kanino/Saan Tumitibok ang Puso Mo?” (For Whom/What Does Your Heartbeat?)This

Project aims to inform the UP students (not limited to that) and other community to be

involve, be knowledgeable with regards to the importance of the donation of blood to

save lives, This projects that was conducted by the students caters the people who are

in need of blood. This is by far, one of the good example of a project, coherently

conducted by the UP organization and students.
