1. Who is St. Paul?

 *

St. Paul, formerly known as Saul, began his ministry as an ordinary man who did not
believe in Christ. He persecuted Christ's disciples because he thought what they
preached was blasphemy. During the journey to Damascus, he heard God's voice
asking why he persecutes Him, and he lost sight at the same time. Ananias, a
disciple of Christ, came to see him after three days of suffering, preached to him, and
healed him of his blindness. This event led to his conversion to Christianity, and he
was baptized under the name Paul as a result. Since then, he has studied the gospel
and attempted to spread it throughout Rome, which led to his capture and execution
under Nero's reign.

2. Why is St. Paul an important figure in Christian history? *

According to the film, St. Paul played a pivotal influence in the formation of Christianity
worldwide. After a spiritual revelation, he ceased hunting for Christians and instead
focused on spreading Christ's teachings. Despite being imprisoned in Rome, he wrote
messages that were able to spread. His works are centered on Christ's sacrifice for
the salvation of all humanity, not just Jews.

3. From the movie, who were the people he empowered? How did he empower
them? *

Under Nero's rule, St. Paul was able to empower Christian communities who were
repressed. Living under the rule of Rome was a terrible time, and faith was tested
because no one could believe in something they couldn't see. Through his letters,
which convey the Gospel of Christ, St. Paul was able to communicate with those
communities. It made them reconsider their quest for justice. It also keeps them
together in the belief that their acts reflect their sufferings for the sake of Christ
because they recognize that Christ dwells inside them. So, even in the face of death,
they prayed the Lord's prayer, content in the knowledge that death had become
synonymous with life.
4. How are you empowered as an individual? *
It's tough to search for the good in others at this time of plague, when everyone is
looking out for themselves. It's difficult to call for unity when there's confusion and no
one is in charge. I felt helpless at the start of the lockdown, so I created a group in
Messenger where we could communicate our concerns and fears. In addition, I
contacted our institution's care society to let them know about what was going on in
our ward. To summarize, I attempted to assess my feelings and, after accepting
them, I attempted to resolve them, as well as to do so with others.

5. How are you empowered as a professional in your workplace? *

As a bedside nurse in a crisis, I've been looking for ways to reduce our burden
without reducing the quality of care we provide to our patients. For example, I
attempted to invent by suggesting regulations in our ward that would restore the order
that had been lost during the pandemic owing to staff rearrangement. As freshly
assigned to a covid ward, some personnel are unfamiliar with their position and
responsibilities. In addition to reinforcing instructions, we were able to anticipate the
needs of the patients. This conduct was beneficial since it allowed us to correctly
distribute the menial activities that the patients requested. We were able to
concentrate our efforts on a few critical initiatives that required immediate attention.

On the other hand, even in the absence of the pandemic, I am constantly seeking for
ways to better and begin learning new things. Years of experience, I understand,
does not imply that we are all-knowing. I could identify to St. Paul because before he
was blinded, he believed he knew what was going on in his community, but once he
regained his sight, he was able to see things spiritually as well as physically.

6. How are you empowered as a member of your own community? (specify the
community you belong to). *

I need to be unselfish and kind, just like Luke in the movie. Luke was on the point of
abandoning his faith after witnessing horrific occurrences, but he was still
compassionate enough to save Mauritius' daughter. This position is all too frequent in
the medical field, when we are selflessly caring for others while worrying for our own
life. We must consider the patient's needs and advocate for them, as the majority of
them are battling Covid-19 alone. There will be times when I want to give up, but
there will be a reminder along the path that what we are doing is for the larger good.
7. Select at least one St. Paul verse/s from many of his epistles. Briefly explain why
you choose this verse. *

The epistle that was remained in my mind is about love. “Love is patient, Love is kind.
Love is not boastful or envious or arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way;
it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. It
bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things”

I'm impetuous and want to do things right away sometimes, especially when it comes
to love. Yes, I, like many others, want for intimate company, but it made me realize
that love will come at the perfect moment, and wouldn't it be better if that love did not
come in a hurry? Furthermore, I am able to freely express my emotions to my family,
who are truly on my side and supporting at all times. And I will trust in God to lead the
way.

8. What are your other insights, reflections, and thoughts about this movie and/or
activity.

After watching this film, I was forced to reevaluate my own ideals and principles. For a
year, it became routine for me to go home after my duty, perform the housework, and
relax by watching different movies. Now that I've witnessed Luke's courage and
strength, I find it encouraging that he was willing to take the risks of visiting Paul in
prison in order for him to write and propagate the Lord’s Gospel. I am hoping that I will
be able to accomplish the same in some way. Being a medical front liner is said to be a
daring act, but in all honesty, I believe this is just part of the job I've sworn to do. But,
after seeing Paul promote Luke to save the prefect's daughter, I was able to reconsider
my attitude, seeing that I can help someone and that not everyone can. And it is one
manner in which God answers another person's prayer via me.
