my supervisor who always give me an advice, direction in doing this final project report.

introduce myself, my name is Nadia Fadilah, and today I would like to presenting my final project
report and the title is Analysis Of Factors Affecting The Decision To Purchase BTS Meal case study in
CONSUMERS BTS MEAL IN BANDUNG.

WHO IS BTS

BTS are a K-pop group made up of seven members - Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V and
Jungkook - who come from all over South Korea.

BTS has amassed a formidable social media presence. With over 25


million followers on their official Twitter account, 30 million followers
on their more personal secondary Twitter account, 40 million
subscribers on their Youtube account, 33 million followers on
Instagram—
BTS has many achievement both international or national such as First
K-pop group to speak at the United Nations, First K-Pop Group to Perform On a Major U.S.
Award Show, First K-Pop Group Nominated for Billboard Music Award, and soon Due to the
popularity of this group, McDonalds is also interested in collaborating with them

WHO IS MCDONALDS
McDonald's is an American fast food company, founded in 1940 as a restaurant operated
by Richard and Maurice McDonald, in  United States.and . In 1955, Ray Kroc, a businessman,
joined the company as a franchise agent and proceeded to purchase the chain from the
McDonald brothers.
McDonald's is the world's largest restaurant chain by revenue,[10] serving over 69 million
customers daily in over 100 countries[11] across 37,855 (THERTY SEVEN HUNDRED eight
thousand fifty five) outlets as of 2018.[12][13] and in Bandung McDonLADS HAVE 17 OUTLETS.

BACKGROUND FIKS

In the last 2 years, the world has been hit by the COVID-19 virus. This pandemic also has an impact
on the company's business activities, including McDonalds. based on the Mcdonalds sales data in the
first quarter 2020, the revenue generated was 4.71B and decreased by 1.47B from the previous
quarter, this was repeated in the 7th month of 2020 which is the total revenue earned 3.76B or
decreased by 0.66B from the previous quarter. To anticipate this problem, on May 26, 2021
McDonalds collaborated with BTS by launching the "BTS Meal" product, this BTS Meal is an exclusive
McDonalds product consisting of 8 chicken nuggets, one glass of cola, French fries and 2 special
sauces. This collaboration has received great attention especially of the fans of BTS, Meanwhile, this
product will be launched in Indonesia on June 9, 2021.

The euphoria of the presence of BTS Meal is quite horrendous, in Indonesia. The food, which can
begin to be ordered via drive-thru and online motorcycle taxi applications has received a very good
response in the community causing long queues at several McDonalds outlets in Indonesia. The high
enthusiasm of this product have positive and negative impacts, such as

McDonald’s were ordered to close temporarily on Wednesday due to a mad rush for a special menu
that took a theme from South Korean boy band BTS. Local authorities said the crowded
McDonald’s outlets could increase the risk of Covid-19 transmission and a lack of preventive
measures by the management could amount to violation to health protocols. and ended
with the closing of several McDonald's outlets in Bandung such as in Cibiru, in Kopo Mas,
and Buahbatu

To welcome the BTS Meal menu in Indonesia and celebrate the anniversary of BTS, fans are also
willing to make donations made through the site kita.bisa.com. The target of this donation is an
online motorcycle taxi driver who has been willing to bother queuing for hours to get a BTS Meal,
donation collected by fans has collected Rp. 265,000,000. (TWO HUNDRED AND SIXTY FIVE MILLION)
rupiah

the sale of BTS Meal packaging in several marketplace platforms such as shopee IS BEING VIRAL, the
price of this packaging starts from Rp. 50,000 (FIFTY THOUSAND) until a hundreds of thousands of
rupiah,

The trend of recycling bts meal packaging into useful items has become popular among BTS fans.
Paper bags, cups and sauce packaging are also recycled into tumblr, key chains, cell phone cases, and
so on

in Korea the BTS Meal phenomenon ended with great success where the BTS Meal sold 1.2 million
portions within 25 days and an increase in turnover of 250% (TWO HUNDRED and Fifty percent) from
before the BTS Meal menu was launched in Korea. While in Indonesia, the BTS Meal menu is only
valid for one to three days. ITS SO different from the schedule McDonaLDS who said that BTS Meal
will available in 1 monht. These because of the excitement and euphoria of the community, this is
considered a violation of health protocols and causing crowds in the Covid-19 pandemic in
Indonesia. Based on this phenomenon, I’m so interested to doing research and brings the theme
into a study entitled "Analysis of Factors Affecting The Decisions To Purchase BTS Meal Products at
the consumers BTS Meal in Bandung City".

Purchasing decision is a process used in selecting an object by combining knowledge about an object
to assess an object with other alternative objects to choose one of them. (Kotler & Keller, 2009)

According to Kotler - Keller (2012: 227) the occurrence of a decision purchases can occur because of
the six dimensions.

• Product selection

• Brand

• Selection of distributors

• Quantity of purchases

• Time of purchase
• Payment method

RESEARCH METHODE

The method used in this study uses the descriptive quantitative research methode .

Population: All of consumer who bought BTS Meal in Bandung

Sampling : non-probability sampling/purposive sampling

purposive sampling is sampling who based on considerations with certain criteria. such as

a. McDonald's consumers who have bought BTS Meal products on June 9, 2020 or when the event is
held

b. BTS Meal consumer who is domiciled in Bandung

TOPIC 5 RESULT DATA ANALYSIS

VALIDITAS… each item statement/question item from this research questionnaire has r count BIGER
MORE than r table so that each of the statement/question items can be SAID valid so / that it can be
used as a measuring tool for this research.

THE RELIABILITY!!! IN THIS RESEARCH HAS A RELIABILITY VALUE OF 0.863. AND THIS VALUE IS
BIGGER THAN THE CRONBACH ALPHA VALUE. so that it can be concluded that the answers from
each respondent in this questionnaire are reliable and accountable data.

PEMBAHASAN

based on the calculation of the SPSS application, it can be seen that the average purchase time
indicator is 3,775. Which is in the "Good"

the average of the product selection indicators is 4.308. This shows that the time of purchasing the
BTS Meal product is included in the "Very Good" category

the average of the brand selection indicators is 4.083. This shows that the time of purchasing BTS
Meal products is included in the "Good" category

the average of the brand selection indicators is 4.24. This shows that the time of purchasing the BTS
Meal product is included in the "Very Good" category

the average of the indicators of the quantity of purchases is 3,984. This shows that the number of
BTS Meal purchases is included in the "Good" category

the average of the payment method indicators is 3,528. This shows that the number of BTS Meal
purchases is included in the "Good" category

From the result of data collected, data processing has ben carried out using the statistical product
for service solutions (SPSS) Aplication, it can be seen that the factors of purchase decision is overall
good. But several user have different perception of the purchase decision. Such as in in statements
number 16, the payment methode who used in McDonalds sometimes there are still have problems.
