Introduction
With the Philippine Archipelago involving more than 7,107 islands pressed in a
range of 300,000 km2 (120,000 sq mi), the nation has the fifth-longest coastline on the
planet. The Philippine coast has an aggregate length of 36,289 km (22,549 mi) and is
extremely sporadic, with various coves, inlets, and islets. As an archipelago, the future
and advancement of the islands has and will dependably rely on upon oceanic travel.
The islands have narrow coastal plains, north-south mountain ranges, active
volcanoes, and high seismological activity. These elements, along with the country’s
complex geologic history and geographic position, make the Philippines one of the most
biologically diverse, most disaster prone, and most environmentally threatened in the
world. High dependence on coastal resources, overfishing and destructive fishing, and
high rates of habitat loss make fishermen in the country the poorest of the poor. The
large population sizes and disproportionate impact of climate change here makes the
passages to ports. Vast boats rely on Parola to guide them safely. Paróla is a
lighthouse that is defined as a tower or other structure containing a beacon light to warn
through its narrow straits and channels, calling attention to safe sections and driving

serve as an aid to warning fishermen of hazards, coastal navigation and guiding them
