Research Topic Taking the temperature of boiling water using thermometer
Research Instrument
The Followings apparatus are used for the taking the temperature of boiling water using
Thermometer.
 Beaker,
 Bunsen burner,
 Thermometer,
 Measuring cylinder,
 Stand,
 Wire mesh,
 Goggles.
Objectives

The main objective of this research is:

1. Accurately use and read a thermometer to measure water temperature

2. See how temperature changes as the water is heated with time.

To measure water temperature Accurately we have to follow maintain the following procedure

1)First we carefully measure 150cm3 of water

into a beaker.
2)Then place a thermometer in the water.
3)Measure the temperature.
4)Record this in a table.
5)Heat the water.
6)Take the temperature every minute.
7)Repeat until the water is boiling strongly.
Findings:

4 72°c

Other interesting things you have learned from this research

From this research we learnt thermometer has two scales -Celsius and Fahrenheit. We also learnt
water boils at 100°c and freezes at 0°c.

Conclusion

We learned how to take temperature using thermometer and also learned Thermometers are used
to measure temperatures or temperature changes with a high degree of precision.
