855839-8:2008 in 'st andard' application areas, and emergency
lighting systems to 855266-1 :2005.

The changes to cable test methods and requirements first

introduced by 855839-1 :2002+A2:2008 ~Fire detection and fire
alarm systems for buildings - Part 1: Code of practice for system
design, installation, commissioning and maintenance· mean that
fire resistant cables must now be approved against new test
requirements.

APPROVALS > In addition to approvals to 857629-1 and 856387 Category

CWZ, FP200 Gold8 has received BASEC and LPC8 approval to
855839-1 :2002 for 'standard' applications. This includes
approval to 85 EN 50200 Class PH30 and the new integrated
fire, shock and water test 858434-1 for 30 minutes. FP200 Gold8
is also approved to 85 EN 50200 Class PH60 as required by
855266-1 :2005.

All Prysmian FP200Gold 9 cables are manufactured under an

150 9001 Quality System certified by BAS EC and LPC8.

DATA CAPABILITY > FP200 Gold 9 has excellent data/ signal transmission characteristics
making it ideal for voice alarm, addressable and networked
systems.

INSTALLATION > In accordance with 855839-1 and 855266-1 requirements,

cables must be supported by a fixing that can withstand the
same fire conditi ons as the cable. To meet this requirement the
use of Prysmian AP LSOH 9 coated metal P- cl ips or the new FP
Firefix'· rapid fixing system is recommended.

FP200Gold should be installed in accordance with

BS7671 / IEE Wiring Regulat ions and/ or any other appropriate
national regulations or codes. It is suitable for indoor and
outdoor installation in suitably protected environments and
particularly appropriate for surface wiring, dir ect burial in
plaster, t ray or other installations requiring a dressable product.
