Classroom Management & Motivation - Due 14th December

Behaviour problems and demotivation are some of the main obstacles to

learning. However, these problems can be used as an opportunity to learn how
to better manage the class and to build a positive and effective learning
environment.

Some of the elements important for good classroom management are verbal
and non-verbal interaction, the teacher’s role in class, motivational techniques
and disruption response – these are the basis of what we call teaching style,
and which also determine the climate of the classroom.

Watch the following video from the New Teacher Survivor Guide: Classroom
Management.

https://www.teachingchannel.org/videos/new-teacher-classroom-management

As you’ll have seen, reflecting on your own classroom management strategies

will help you to improve students’ attention, redirect their behaviour and make
your classes enjoyable. So, how can we introduce some of the strategies in our
lessons? In the reading, “Classroom Management” by Paul Seligson you will
learn some techniques that can be implemented in class.

Once you have completed the three parts of this assignment, upload your
assignment (on one sole document) under the appropriate section on
the platform before 14th December.

Remember:

- You’re in a University so you should reference any used sources.

- Please check your spelling, paragraphing and presentation!
- Use Georgia, 12 or similar, and 1, 15 spacing.
