_______

Explain the Following:

1.Differentiate Monitoring from Evaluating.
• The difference between monitoring and evaluating is that, monitoring refers to
an organized process of overseeing and checking the activities undertaken in a
project, to ascertain whether it is capable of achieving the planned results while
evaluation is a scientific process that gauges the success of the project or program
in meeting the objectives.
The primary difference between monitoring and evaluation is that while
monitoring is a continuous activity, performed at the functional level of
management, evaluation is a periodic activity.
2. As student leader of CWTS, how are you going to monitor the program
or project you have implemented in the community. Device steps in
monitoring your project.
• As a student leader of CWTS, I will Implement new processes and
procedures. I will also coordinate with the organizations involved in
implementation. I will make sure that everything is under control and it will
be successful. Of course it includes, managing people, following processes
and communicating information as well.
I think, not everyone will agree with me as a student leader. But i will still
continue to serve and do what i think is right. We all both know that we can’t
achieve something without sacrificing something. Success also demands various
things from you. But these sacrifices will not go in vain if you achieve your goal.
3. evaluation needs to be constant process built into all level of program.
A. As participant, how are you going to evaluate the program of
implementation?
• As a participant, i will document the level of success in accomplishing objectives.
Because it can help me to clarify my plans today an in the futurr as well.
It's important to remember that evaluation is not a new activity for those of us
working to improve our communities.
It offers a way to understand and improve community.
B. As implementor (CWTS Students), how are you going to evaluate
the program?
• As an implementor, i will engage everyone, describe the program and focus on
the evaluation, justify conclusions and also enaure use and share lessons
learned. I will also evaluate the program by assessing the progress in the
objectives that the program is to achieve.
It involves collecting and analyzing information about a program's activities,
characteristics, and outcomes. Its purpose is to make judgments about a
program, to improve its effectiveness, and to inform decisions. Just be
patient in doing these things and you will successfully evaluate the
program.
4. Which do you prefer, a Participatory Evaluation or a Non- Participatory
Evaluation? Be able to explain your choice.
• I prefer participatory evaluation. Because it identifies locally relevant
evaluation questions, improves accuracy and relevance of reports, and also
improves program performance, sustain organizational learning and
growth, empower participants, build capacity, and lastly, they develop
leaders and build teams.
But in participatory evaluation, it really takes time, patience and hardwork.
Because you will be experiencing different challenges along the way. So
you better be ready in experiencing these things. Again, this won't be easy.
But believe me, iit will be worth it. You patience, determination and hard
work will soon pay off.
5. If you are going to evaluate the program or projects of implantation, what
will you use? On going Evaluation on Concluding Evaluation? Explain why?
• If i am going to evaluate the program or projects of implantation, i will use
on going evaluation.
Because it offers value judgments about a particular subject according to a
set of criteria and it also provides evidence to justify a writer's opinions
about a subject.
