PROJECT PROPOSAL
II. RATIONALE:
In support of the Department’s policy development process, research agenda, and policy
and program development and implementation, Manito District continues to promote and
strengthen the culture of research in basic education and apply action research processes in
improving learner’s care towards quality improvement of education.
In line with this, the Action Research Committee will conduct a District Training-
Workshop on the Basics of Crafting Action Research Paper for Teachers and School Heads SY
2020-2021 on February 23-25, 2021 at Manito District via face to face modality.
This 3-day training is based from the consolidated training needs and assessment of
teachers and school heads which seek to provide guidance in managing research initiatives in the
district and school levels and to upskill and reskill the skills of teachers and school heads in crafting
an effective action research paper that is responsive to the current challenges of the Basic Education
Sector.
The 3-day seminar shall be in a face-to-face activity due to poor internet connection. The
facilitators and participants will strictly adhere to the IATF guidelines and protocols.
This District Training-Workshop on the Basics of Crafting Action Research for Teachers,
ALS Implementers and School Heads will start at 8:00 in the morning and ends at 5:00 in the
afternoon. A well-crafted, appropriate, flexible and up-to-date Action Research Proposal is the
expected output. Participants who can complete the training shall receive Certificate of
Participation.

I. OBJECTIVES
A. TERMINAL OBJECTIVE:
- continue to promote and strengthen the culture of research in basic education.

B. ENABLING OBJECTIVES:
- be able to produce an action research detailed outline as workshop output among
participants.
- Demonstrate ability and values in academic research
- Participate in preparing an academic action research proposal complying with the
ethical principles in educational research.
- Apply the action research process in improving pupil’s care towards quality
improvement of education.
- to identify the tools and strategies and designs of crafting action research.

The knowledge and skills developed during the conduct of the 3-day District Training-
Workshop on the Basics of Crafting Action Research for Teachers, ALS Implementers and School
Heads will be used to resolve issues and concerns along instruction, curriculum, school
management and responding to the needs of ALS learners to cope with the present education
context.
