TIGERs@Mekong goal is to accelerate the entrepreneurial ecosystems in Burma, Cambodia, Laos,

Opportunities for Startups Outside Vietnam

K-Startup Challenge
This initiative from South Korea is calling for applications with deadline by June 14. 80 selected teams
worldwide (with a focus in Asia and SEA) will go through two elimination rounds, which will result in a
number of 40 startups to the acceleration program. 20 finalists will receive $33K each, while the 4 finalist
will have the chance to win up to $100K. Tickets and accommodation costs are covered through the 9
months in Seoul. Mentors are esteemed chaebols in South Korea and regional accelerators, including
500 Startups, SparkLabs, ActnerLab etc.

The finalists are encouraged to stay within Korea as the program ends, but there is no mandatory request
to do so.

Hello Tomorrow Challenge (DEADLINEJUNE 22nd 2016)

The Hello Tomorrow Challenge is a global startup competition for promising early-stage projects & startups
using science & technology to solve the world’s issues.

Eligibility
Early-stage startups or projects that have currently raised less than $400k, have a core piece of technology and
are working on a product that can have great impact on the industry and society. Projects must have a POC or
a scientific validation of their claim to apply. Projects don’t have to be incorporated to apply to the competition
but they should have clear development plans and goals. In case a non-incorporated project wins the
competitions, no funds will be transferred until the company is incorporated.

Selection Criteria
To date, our 60 early-stage alums have raised over $90 million. The Challenge consists of 10 tracks: Data &
Connectivity, Transportation, Space, Personal life, Energy, Water & Waste, Air Quality, Healthcare,
Food & Agro, and Industry 4.0. Examples of data science innovations include data security and predictive
analytics. Projects will be selected according to 4 criteria: Impact, Technology, Viability, Team by a
handpicked interdisciplinary team of researchers, investors, entrepreneurs and executives.

Rewards
Top projects from around the world will have a chance to attend our yearly Hello Tomorrow Summit, on
October 13th-14th in Paris. They will compete for prizes of €15k (track prizes) to €100k (first prize), get
global media coverage, and interact with sector-specific and invite-only investors (past: Index, Flagship, Y
Combinator etc.), top industry executives (past: Google[x], NASA, Roche etc.), and fellow founders. Among our
