Good day!

I do hope this letter finds you all well. Our circumstances still hinder us from going back to doing
things that we are much passionate about and doing things the way we used to in the past. Let us
take courage and persevere.

Despite the struggles of putting up artistic projects at this time, we do find ways to adjust and adapt
to certain new norms in doing things, and we must not forget to celebrate anything that must remind
us of beauty and goodness in the world. One such important celebration that we are preparing for
now – though seemingly with limited time – is Sir Mark Anthony Carpio’s 20th Anniversary as
Choirmaster of the Philippine Madrigal Singers.

For this, we are organizing a very simple online presentation on the 29th of July, which exactly marks
the 20th year since Prof. Andrea O. Veneracion declared him as the next choirmaster of the Madz
during a concert at the CCP in 2001. Part of the repertoire for said online event is the SING,
PHILIPPINES, SING, which we now posit as a kind of Mission Song for Philippine choristers. While we
were conceptualizing for this particular music, we thought it would be great to include as many
singers as we could so that we may be able to show Sir Mark that we remain close to and supportive
of him and the mission that he took on not just as choirmaster of the Madz, but also as the beacon
that guides all of us; thus, this invitation for you to participate.

Attached are specific instructions and the materials that you will need for this project. We have
devised ways to make things easier for everyone especially due to our limited time and mobility.

Thank you very much! Please be assured that we think of you often and that our thoughts turn to
prayers for your safety. I do remain.

Respectfully yours,

JOEY G. VARGAS
