Introduction
Locally, the monthly basic salary of a mechanical engineer costs around P14,500 - P48,600 per
month. In the U.S., Mechanical Engineers receive an average salary of $5,142.
A Mechanical Engineer who has undergone apprenticeship training through different activities in
a power company has the opportunity to assume a supervisory or managerial position. Those
who don’t have the inclination to be managers follow a parallel career by becoming experts or
specialists in the long run.
Mechanical Engineers deal with the production and use of mechanical power. They design,
operate and use all kinds of machines and machine tools. They likewise design and build engines
that produce power from steam, gasoline and other sources which they try to develop to augment
the sources of power.
Tasks
4
● Investigates equipment failures and difficulties, diagnoses faulty operations and makes
recommendation to maintenance crew;
● Alters or modifies design to obtain specified functional and operational performance;
● Conducts experiments to test and analyze existing design and equipment to obtain data on
performance of product, and prepares reports;
● Assists drafter in developing structural design of product, using drafting tools or
computer-assisted design/drafting equipment and software;
● Tests ability of machines to perform tasks;
● Selects or design tools to meet specification, using manuals, drafting tools, computer and
specialized software programs;
● Develops models of alternate processing methods to test feasibility or new applications of
system components, and recommends implementation of procedures;
● Confers with establishment personnel and engineers to implement operating procedures
and resolve system malfunction, and to provide technical information; and
● Plans and directs engineering personnel in fabrication of test control apparatus and
equipment and develops procedures for testing products.
In a wide range of industries, mechanical engineers perform key roles including automotive,
aerospace, biotechnology, computers, telecommunications, microelectromechanical devices,
energy conversion, robotics and automation, and manufacturing. Currently 36 technical divisions
are listed by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), from advanced energy
systems and aerospace engineering to solid waste engineering and textile engineering.
5
The scope of the mechanical engineering discipline allows for a range of career options for
students beyond the above-mentioned industries. Whatever direction they envisage, a mechanical
engineering education empowers students with creative thinking skills to develop an exciting
product or device.
1. Automotive Engineer
In the production of passenger cars, trucks, buses, motorcycles or off-road
vehicles, automotive engineers are involved. They are doing one or more of the following:
designing new or changing existing products. Troubleshoot and resolve problems in
engineering.
2. Aerospace Engineering
Develop and test rockets, ships, satellites and spacecraft by aerospace engineers.
We also develop propulsion systems and evaluate aircraft aerodynamic efficiency and
ensure that all designs, prototypes and products meet the required engineering standards,
environmental concerns and customer requirements.
3. Biotechnology Engineering
Biotechnology engineering is a field of principles of applied biology and chemical
engineering that includes the use of living things in engineering, technology, medicine,
and other useful uses. It also includes genetic engineering as well as techniques for cell
and tissue culture
4. Computer Engineering
While creating and designing memory cards, processors, circuit boards, and
networks, a computer engineer checks computer components and systems. In other fields,
such as robots or building materials, they make computers more mobile or add
computers.
5. Telecommunications Engineering
A telecommunications engineer designs and supervises the construction of
telecommunications equipment and facilities, such as complex electronic switching
systems and other plain old telephone service facilities, fiber optic cabling, IP networks
and microwave transmission systems.
6. Energy Conversion Engineering
NETL has a long history of developing energy conversion systems for the
development of coal, natural gas, and (more recently) integrated fossil fuel and renewable
generation electricity, fuels and chemicals. Flexible power systems will be required in a
variety of sizes to meet future energy demands such as district heating and cooling,
smaller grids, energy storage and further integration.

II. Process Map
If you've become tired of the decreasing efficiency of your engine, intermittent strength,
rough idle, exhaust smoke, knocking noises, rattles, and other diseases that plague
worn-out engines, there are several things you could do.Another option could be to
rebuild the engine, or have it done for you. While a potentially viable alternative, the
limiting factors may be your time and mechanical skills.
Another, faster and perhaps less expensive option may make sense when you give it a
thought-and this is an installation of a replacement engine. You can either go with a stock
model, or upgrade to another, more powerful engine.
Calling out that these are general orders is extremely important. We've done our best to
cover what you'll need to do on most cars in the following steps. If the engine is
longitudinally mounted (most RWD cars) or transversely mounted (FWD) there will be
major differences, however. On some automobiles it is advised (and in fact easier) that
the transmission is pulled out as one unit with the engine. The engine must be lowered
from under the vehicle in very rare cases, which ensures that the body is raised (and we
do NOT include that difference here).References to a vehicle's repair manual along with
our directions are always recommended.
Take note, If your vehicle is fitted with A / C, please know that the venting of refrigerant
into the atmosphere is illegal (and harmful to the environment) You may want to consider
7
taking the car to a repair shop to evacuate the A / C device before you start removing the
engine.
Lock the rear wheels with wheel chocks, and jack up the front of the car so that you can
position jack stands on the frame under specified points. Give the car a good shake to
make sure it's secure-you don't want it to crash when tugging on stuff below.
These are the steps or methods that you can follow on how to remove a car machine.
8
3. Drain All Fluids:
Drain motor oil and engine coolant. And whether or not you're going to be pulling the motor
along with the engine, consider just draining the tranny fluid. Don't forget to unbolt your engine
block transmission dipstick cable, if your vehicle is so fitted
9
5. Dispose of A / C machine
Evacuate all the coolant out of your air conditioning system. See our article How to Use An A /
C Manifold Gauge Package for more info on that process (and recharging it later) along with the
equipment you will need to use. When the refrigerant is discharged and the device is
depressurized, the metal lines leading to the vehicle's compressor are removed from the engine
block. (We had some success with unbolting the A / C compressor from the block on some much
older cars of the' 60s and' 70s and, keeping the lines intact, swinging it out of the way.
If you have a small engine and a straight up shot, leaving the radiator and A / C condenser
behind the front grille in place may be tempting. They can easily get damaged though as the
engine is being pushed forward and around during removal. Being positive is better than being
sorry.Unbolt and pull both of these things out now that the hoses and lines have already been
removed, will not take much extra effort.
10
7. Unbolt Exhaust System Components
The exhaust system needs to be disconnected from the engine. Here, you have a choice. You
might need to disconnect the header pipe (down pipe) from the exhaust manifold, or the manifold
itself (two on V-engines) may need to be unbolted from the heads.
11
9. Disconnect Motor Mounts
Before you start cranking on the engine hoist, you'll need to unbolt motor mounts which secure
the engine to the frame or unibody. Most vehicles have two motor mounts, although some have
up to four. The shapes and sizes of them can vary greatly. If you're not sure how to find all of the
ones on your car or truck, a vehicle-specific repair manual will tell you where they are.
12
engine is gone, quite a bit of support will be lost. Be careful not to position the support on the
transmission fluid pan, as that can cause damage.

IV. Statements from Professionals
Introductory
Questions
● Which is more hard to do? Response “It really depends on the vehicle
Removing or Assembling an and on the possibilities. Power steering, A
engine car? / C, anti-lock brakes, and all the other
equipment on new cars and trucks brings
tremendous difficulty to the task. Tight
spaces also make the problem worse”
● How long does it take to remove a Response “That really depends on your
car engine? tools, equipment and experience. Some
professional mechanics with engine lifts
14
and air tools can remove the accessories,
motor and transmission mounts in less
than two hours.
● Can you remove an engine without Response “Yes you can. In fact, that is the
removing the transmission? way it is normally done for an engine
repair. Although depending on the vehicle,
it might be best to remove both as a unit.
You just need to unbolt the transmission
from the engine.
V. Conclusion
Based on the gathered information from reliable sites, companies, and working
professionals on the field, the researchers can say that engine car removal and assembling is a
small process in the mechanical engineer field. According to the professional, the procedures are
valid and accurate but it requires few adjustments to ensure the safety for the individual when
conducting an experiment that involves the use of Personal Protective Gear. Such as that proper
use of materials/devices, and different devices can be used to come up with different solutions to
proceed safely in engine car removal and assembling.
